Ok, So I recently got a pipe from a bunch of guys I smoke with, but they also smoke tobacco (i don't know if they smoke tobacco with nicotine, or just natural tobacco, (this will become relevant later)) and I had just finished getting out all of the resin and I was curious if (A. Does tobacco create resin over time? If so, will it smell the same as marijuana resin? and (B. Will it retain any of the nicotine in it as I was planning smoking the resin, since I'm currently all out anyway
And now for a less important question, how long should I soak my pipe in isopropyl? and then how long should it take to evaporate the rest of the alcohol that's going to remain on/in the pipe?
So yea, pretty much does tobacco make resin, and if so does it smell like weed resin and contain nicotine? just cause I don't know if weed was smoked out of it or not and just wanted to play it safe
Thanks in advance!
how about you stop posting threads asking simple questions and ask here

Tobacco makes resin. It smells terrible. TERRIBLE.

I have asked my simple questions there, but this time, time was a factor and it wasn't a simple question. I figured it was thread worthy considering there must be others with similar problems especially about how long it takes for alcohol to dry
your question wouldnt get answered any faster in its own thread than in the question thread
if anything it would take longer to get answered in its own thread.

In a perfect world, this would be true.

Cut him a little slack. There is only like 1 new thread every week or so, it's fine.
The amount of nicotine would probably hardly be noticeable also if they smoked pipe tobacco you would probably know, people who smoke pipes probably wouldn't just say they smoke.

Please quit killing DD. I know you think you are helping but shutting down every new thread isn't what the subforum needs. We are a thread of supposed stoners and druggies but we act like such tightasses.
I'm no stoner though, I'm not going to act like something I'm not. Call me an asshole, I know I am.

I'll quit killing the DD once I find somewhere to go other than this place, still working on that. Believe me I want out of here just as much as everyone wants me out of here.

i like having you around.

A. Yes it creates resin, no it does not smell the same. Most say it smells gross/disgusting.
B. Yes, traces of nicotine are left behind in the resin. Not as much as is originally in straight tobacco obviously, but still some.
http://www.chacha.com/question/is-there-nicotine-in-tobacco-resin
C. I'd personally just let it set over night to be safe. It depends of course on how resined up your pipe is, how long it's been since you've cleaned it, how much you smoke, what type/quality of tobacco you smoke, etc.
D. Just rinse it out with warm/hot water (be careful not to get the water too hot as the heat-shock could crack or shatter the glass!). If you want to smoke out of it right away, blow-dry it or something like that to assure it's not wet anymore.
Lastly, I would refer you to this site for cleaning a glass pipe: http://www.howtocleanthings.com/how-to-clean-a-glass-pipe.htm
I'm assuming the pipe is glass, as you did not specify.
questions answered
Thanks man, and no it should be cool its a metal pipe, and I was just a bit concerned because I don't know specifics and I'd assume a little bit of nicotine wouldn't get me addicted regardless, but I would rather be safer than sorry.
As to all the other ramblings above, I don't see why putting up a new thread every once in a while couldn't hurt, I've only started posting in here since last month I think and there really aren't too many new threads, I mean I made that thread on what people like to do high/tripping just to add a new thread for people to post in haha

I'm pretty sure a bunch of dumb asses are killing DD by starting stupid shit and not being able to use correct threads. Sorry, it's annoying.

Well I won't speak for everyone, but I know that I don't like sifting through tons of shitty threads or really simple ones that take two seconds to answer. I personally tend to suggest the DDQ Thread quite a bit, simply because most answers could be found on the first page of a google search (yours included, might I add). Those threads aren't needed any more than a new thread is needed every time somebody wants to post a picture of themselves high.
I'm all for the growth and expansion of this sub-forum, TRUST me. But continued growth happens through new, innovative and useful threads, not simple question and answer threads that don't last a page before they break into a random chat/argument. We have the Addicts Lounge for that. ;)
General Statement: Posting new threads doesn't hurt, but don't post one just to post one. Be smart about it.
