It has come to my attention that we require a thread about the almighty Melvins. You may all know the Melvins from the fact that their frontman, Buzz Osbourne, has probably the best hairdo in metal history.

This band has been considered to be sludge metal, but they are very experimental so they never have really one specific genre that they always play. It's probably one of the reasons why I enjoy listening to them so much.
Founded in 1983 they have gone through many band members and now the only remaining core member is that man with the hair himself:

An interesting fun fact is that Kurt Cobain tried out for the Melvins, but Buzzo didn't let him in.

I just love the variety that you get from their albums. It's always heavy as fuck, but the sounds are always different.
The fact that it's so under processed makes it even better in my opinion.
