Yet another blind man who has learned navigation by echolocation
6 replies, posted
You guys remember the thread about this blind kid Ben Underwood who learned to navigate
by making clicking noises to hear where or what they echo from? Sadly he died not too long
ago from the cancer that was thought to be removed along with his eyes.
But his extraordinary talent is not lost. This guy, who has also lost his eyes due to cancer
has taught himself the same thing AND he trains other blind people to echolocate objects.
This video about him tells a bit more about how echolocation works and what its limits are.

I've seen a couple other videos of people who can do this aswell.
That's really awesome. I want to learn to do that.
Is this like an easy to pick up thing, or does it take practice?

Were you born that stupid or did you need to practice?

When your blind in increases your other senses, so maybe it's just something that comes naturally, or maybe it takes getting use to.
Well crucify me for asking a question about something I know very little about.
If it wouldn't need practice, you wouldn't need to train it, right?
