President Donald Trump’s personal lawyer argued Monday that, as the nominal head of federal law enforcement, the president is legally unable to obstruct justice. But the exact opposite view was once argued by another senior Trump lawyer: Attorney General Jeff Sessions.
In 1999, Sessions – then an Alabama senator – laid out an impassioned case for President Bill Clinton to be removed from office based on the argument that Clinton obstructed justice amid the investigation into his affair with White House intern Monica Lewinsky.
“The facts are disturbing and compelling on the President's intent to obstruct justice,” he said, according to remarks in the congressional record.
Sessions isn’t alone. More than 40 current GOP members of Congress voted for the impeachment or removal of Clinton from office for obstruction of justice. They include Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell – who mounted his own passionate appeal to remove Clinton from office for obstruction of justice – Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley and Senate Intelligence Committee Chairman Richard Burr, who was a House member at the time.
😂
Well, yeah, but the facts were disturbing and compelling because the President was black!
Edit: On a related note I still can't believe how grimey and horrible Sessions' past and views are. The 'got so excited to do a racism' meme really doesn't do the depths of this man's dislike for non-whites/immigrants justice.
And yet - and yet - Trump still manages to act and behave more hostile towards Obama versus a man who's totally in favor of race-based eugenics. Let that sink in a bit.
It isn't illegal if the president does it

I... what? Bill Clinton isn't black. And I understood maybe a third of what you were saying in the context of this particular story. Far as I can tell they don't even mention Obama. Care to clarify?

Wow ur memory of Bill Clinton's ethnicity is almost as bad as Jeff Sessions' memory of whether he met with any Russians

Sure. Was talking about his legal history - what he supports, has argued for, is against, et cetera. As far as the depths of the man's dislike for other races must extend - Bill Clinton's probably the closest thing to a black man with white skin we've had. In other words: Because black men like him (enough to call him 'a black brother' et cetera), Sessions didn't, and so the 'facts were disturbing and compelling'.
I'm saying his ability to state things legally in that regard is compromised by his hatred - which means he's going to kowtow to his hatred again here and go 'nuh uh, the facts of this case are absolutely different compared to Clinton' because Trump is a racist and hates Obama and would like to erase his name from history while he stomps angrily around on his presidential legacy - and so Sessions likes him enough to - with bias - protect him. Just as he's been doing this whole time with the whole 'I'm invoking executive privilege but I'm not saying I'm invoking executive privilege' shtick in front of committee and congress.

Aside from being your typical slimy Republican, I didn't get any overt signs that Sessions was particularly racist. Hell, he's got his nose buried so far up Trump's ass that his face is permanently dyed brown. Any particular cases from Sessions' legal history that illustrate this?

There is a weird joke that has circulated around since his presidency about Bill Clinton being the first black president because of some supposed great work he did to help black communities in this country among other things (I disagree with the idea however). So I'm gonna assume its based off that joke.

Huh, I hadn't heard it myself.

He didn't state it in court so it's more 'his opinion' - but his opinion absolutely influences his legal opinion. Maddow did a whole segment on it but you can catch some of the highlights here in this article by slate.
But to summarize: He thinks eugenics-advocate-created anti-immigration-policy was great for America and believes, like most white nationalists would state, that 'we're on a path to the white race being suppressed by morally and intellectually inferior races'. He'd like to see such laws brought back since he sees a need for them - and thus his advocacy.
Edit: Found the Maddow segment if you want to deep dive into what that policy was, its origins, and why Sessions supports it.

I decided to search around a bit for stuff prior to Obama, and I this article from the New Yorker in 1998 that I think might be the origin of it: https://www.newyorker.com/magazine/1998/10/05/comment-6543
white skin notwithstanding, this is our first black President. Blacker than any actual black person who could ever be elected in our children’s lifetime. After all, Clinton displays almost every trope of blackness: single-parent household, born poor, working-class, saxophone-playing, McDonald’s-and-junk-food-loving boy from Arkansas.
Which gets even better with the line about, "Blacker than any actual black person who could ever be elected in our children’s lifetime." and thinking about Obama's election a decade later. Obviously since Obama's election, the joke has lost a lot of its use, however.

He was deemed too racist to be a federal judge. In the 80s. I'm sure Trump's team saw that as a plus when considering him for attorney general.
-nevermind
Sessions doesn't recall saying that.
Sessions doesn't recall saying that.
Of course he doesn't. Scumbags seem to have a rather selective memory to their past actions when it's convenient for them.
The rules only matter when the president isn't republican
