Utilizing crowd funding to raise money for the show that made him famous, Chris Hansen will launch a Kickstarter page next week to generate funds for a new show called “Hansen vs. Predator.” According to the L.A. Times, Hansen’s initial target goal is roughly $100,000 shy of half a million and will mark the first time that the Internet-based crowd funding platform will be used to raise money to revive an existing television franchise.
they should make a show about chris hansen hunting down illegal immigrants and call it aliens vs. hansen
Pledge Reward $1000: Guest star on show
one of the pledge rewards is a date with one of their child actors then subsequently an appearance on the show
Hansen vs. Predator
that fucking title
donate to the show, get caught on show.
I hope the show also delves into how cyber-crime units track and arrest paedophiles.
Always find that sort of stuff interesting (Eg. Border Patrol).
Doesn't seem like the show that would require crowfunding.

they should make a show where they hire illegal immigrants to hunt child molesters
didn't he get arrested for doing some wild shit with an underage person, or am I thinking of someone else

You can do that for free though

He had an affair with a journalist. Unless NBC's hiring young nowadays, I think you might be a bit off
The whole paedo baiting and shaming as a form of national entertainment... how is it even legal?
Didn't one of them kill himself because of it last time?
Edit: btw, no shit, of course I'm not sympathising with them... Read later post

"Pedo shaming"? These were guys that thought they were just about to score a kid. These are people that were just about to actually commit the act of harming a child.
They aren't just people that are attracted to kids, they were legitimately trying to have sex with them. That's why the show is called "To Catch A Predator".

and clearly the best solution is to public humiliate them on national television for the entertainment of everyone who doesn't have these problems
Isn't baiting someone illegal, unless done by the police?
I really don't know.
Maybe in USA.

not for free. you generally need to cover the cost of a case of "Mike's Hard Lemonade"

It's kind of particular. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Entrapment
This explains it pretty well.
Entrapment defenses in the United States has evolved mainly through case law. Two competing tests exist for determining whether entrapment has taken place, known as the "subjective" and "objective" tests. The "subjective" test looks at the defendant's state of mind; entrapment can be claimed if the defendant had no "predisposition" to commit the crime. The "objective" test looks instead at the government's conduct; entrapment occurs when the actions of government officers would usually have caused a normally law-abiding person to commit a crime.

It's the other way around. Police baiting someone here is entrapment.

It's still fucked up even if they are complete scum. It should be a police matter, not some cheesy entertainment show to grab ratings and dollars.
Isn't the end goal of jail time to rehabilitate criminals back into productive members of society? Isn't this whole show format just exploiting the whole situation and hindering this process?

I can cope with someone having fantasies and/or those "Fuck My Body MEGA Masturbator tits + ass 4000" toys of 14-17 year old girls, it may seem creepy as fuck, but atleast they're not ACTIVELY RUNNING AROUND AND CHASING KIDS- x days, months, year, 2,3,4,8 etc old.. To use them for sexual pleasure.

Well I don't agree with how the show puts them on public display, but there seemed to be some confusion earlier about pedophiles vs. predators being targeted that I just wanted to clear up.

Can't wait to see the spinoff where its Aliens vs Predators.

dudes who wanna fuck kids should go get help instead of saying "hey at least i'm not actually raping anyone!" it's not a completely incorrect statement but it's the wrong attitude to have. don't settle for self-loathing and apathy as everyone who defends paedophiles seems to want, tackle it with professional help and learn to live with yourself instead of falling into extremes of self-hate or vileness.

It's their choice to commit an illegal act.
They are the ones going out of their way to do something that is not only reprehensible but just flat out against the law.
It's 100% their fault for choosing to do so.
There's so much more avenues to catch creeps out nowadays, tinder, facebook, twitter, whatsapp, w/e
If they were to revive this show they have a lot of resources to use
I didn't know people enjoyed watching shows where you can watch mentally ill people get arrested.
I'll donate if it means I'm exempt from appearing on the show
