What do you think of Parkour? Parkour is the act of, instead of going around things, jumping/climbing over obsticales... It's actually surprisingly fun, believe it or not! A lot of people think its "Gay" but i find it quite amusing! Discuss your thoughts! I live in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan at the moment... There isn't much to jump off.
This looks very fun but it also looks physically demanding.

I live in Newfoundland, so i can jump of rocks, following by jumping on other rocks! Also there is a lot of obstacles! Would be cool if it didn't have a French name. Instead it's trendy and pretentious.
This is like the 3rd thread this month.

OR obstacles.
This looks very fun but it also looks physically demanding.
I'm not exactly "Fit" but i do it. I even saw a vid of a fat kid doing it pretty well!

Just because something's French makes it trendy and pretentious?
In gym, we lately have been walking... There is a kid who performs "parkour" the whole time, which for him is basically climbing over fences. I'd like to get good at it, but....
The only thing you can jump around here is the occasional fence spaced 50m apart, not exactly good Parkour environment.
Me and my friend tried this once, and now I can successful do an action roll without breaking my spine.
Same, although there's no buildings. OR obstacles.
What do you mean "Same"? You live in NL? There is alot of obstacles. You can do Parkour ANYWHERE!
I'm not exactly "Fit" but i do it. I even saw a vid of a fat kid doing it pretty well!
Can I have the link?
Just because something's French makes it trendy and pretentious?
That, and everyone and their dog is doing it. Personally, I'd be pretty annoyed if some kid was jumping all over my building.
Looks fun, though I don't have the physical strength to do it. Nothing interesting to jump over in my area.
That, and everyone and their dog is doing it. Personally, I'd be pretty annoyed if some kid was jumping all over my building.
If you don't want someone on your building you can always call 911 and say someone is trespassing.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PK6Zo-qcPRo
That scratch looked nasty.
Training for parkour, sometimes feels like a chore, but not for those who adore, or when it lets you explore, show others you're hardcore, unless you fall to the floor, then I come through that french door, with a fucking m4.
What do you mean "Same"? You live in NL? There is alot of obstacles. You can do Parkour ANYWHERE!
Not really. There's a gas station down the street and a walmart a few minutes away. the rest is flat street, the occasional bench, a park, and houses.
If you don't want someone on your building you can always call 911 and say someone is trespassing.
Or not have to go through the trouble at all.
That scratch looked nasty.
Pretty good other than that though am i right?
Pretty good other than that though am i right?
Yep.
I remember trying it once with friends, but then we realized that we looked like real douchebags because we were jumping pebbles and rocks half a foot tall. Arizona sucks.
I haven't seen any parkour here in Ireland Also: Posting in a parkour thread

I've always wanted to get into this but I always think that I'll smash my face into something or hurt myself really bad. Also, I wouldn't know where to start or who I could start with.
