It's really ugly.
I don't think there's really any use in doing so. The PS4 is slim enough as it is already?
At least the power button is distinguishable now lol
Maybe it's just poor photo perspective but it doesn't really look like a significant decrease in size.
500 gb is pretty lame if this is true. frankly we should just go ahead and set 1tb as the standard hard drives. you need to install all games nowadays and they have big file sizes. 500gb doesn't cut it anymore

It really doesn't look that much smaller, i don't really see the purpose here aside from i guess it's tradition at this point. The PS4 wasn't super huge to begin with.

Which is like 9 games installed at most if they use all the Blu-ray. It's not super great, but it's not like upgrading the HDD on these things is rocket science. Pop the lid, slap in the hot new 2TB thing you found on eBay, boot it.
At least the power button is distinguishable now lol
seriously. i always get the power button and eject button confused. probably because the labels on the buttons are a trillionth of a millimeter large
the rubber feet on the bottom being the playStation buttons is kinda fun
It's really ugly.
Hasn't stopped Sony before [t]https://pbs.twimg.com/media/CqZsu6CWYAAGIBG.jpg:large[/t] (That's the original leaked picture of the PS3, by the way, and people back then called it ugly too) Apparently someone at Foxconn, aka one of the biggest console manufactures, spied a playstation-like device in production very similar to this, so this adds up. They had also spotted a new psp-like device, but whether or not this is the Trinity or the NX we don't know right now.
Damn that thing is ugly
Why are all the slim PlayStations so ugly? I love the look of the fat PS2 and even the fat PS3 is decent.
what's the point of a slim version of a console anyway? is the only reason for a slim version if it doesn't have a significant boost in specs is just because it's ~slim~?

[t]https://cdn.arstechnica.net/wp-content/uploads/2009/08/ps3_slim_640_ars.jpg[/t] What is it with this gen looking like old tech? PS4 slim looks like a damn floppy drive
I don't understand why they never try to innovate or be creative with the design. It looks so dull and boring.
Why are all the slim PlayStations so ugly? [editline]21st August 2016[/editline] That said, I don't see the point of this. It's not much smaller than the system that's already PS3 Slim sized.
Why would they remove optical audio out?
Maybe it's just poor photo perspective but it doesn't really look like a significant decrease in size.
Look at the size of that controller, the PS4 is tiny.
I don't understand why they never try to innovate or be creative with the design. It looks so dull and boring.
i think the parallelogram shape of the PS4 is nice
Why would they remove optical audio out?
they do this every revision
That said, I don't see the point of this. It's not much smaller than the system that's already PS3 Slim sized.
I don't see a point in not? People who have yet to get a PS4 now get a slightly slimmer version, and people who already own it can ignore it because there is nothing new hardware-wise. There is literally no downside to this.
they do this every revision
The PS2 Slim and both PS3 slims don't have them removed?
Looks like it's coated in rubber.
seriously. i always get the power button and eject button confused. probably because the labels on the buttons are a trillionth of a millimeter large
They have labels?! I've owned a PS4 since near launch and I didn't know this.
How do you guys get the buttons confused? it's like you're playtesters for polygon
How do you guys get the buttons confused? it's like you're playtesters for polygon
To be fair, those labels are incredibly small.
Unless it's natively backwards compatible with PS1 and PS2 games and plays CDs, I don't even see the point anymore.
To be fair, those labels are incredibly small.
the power button goes next to the power light
