Nahh we can always make up some bullshit... just look at any NCAA sports roster.
my problem with Vsauce is that they always end up going off-topic and come close to rambling. like alright the names thing is cool but why are we talking about people acting differently while on the computer now?
has there been a single vsauce thread without this post
It's like the Red Hot Nickle Ball videos always having a comment about how much they like the sound the welder makes when it stops
You're kind of missing the point of these videos.
i must be could you explain it to me? [editline]aefve[/editline] not even trying to be smart with this comment i honestly don't know what i'm missing
One of the most fascinating Vsauce videos to date in my opinion. Its interesting to see how the usage of handles/avas/etc. affects someone's behaviour or reflects some unconscious less seen behaviour thats sometimes out of public view. It begs the question of the origins of some behaviours, are they spawned from ourselves or from our extensions/non-meatspace identities.
i must be could you explain it to me? [editline]aefve[/editline] not even trying to be smart with this comment i honestly don't know what i'm missing
Okay. Vsauce's videos have always been pleasant, thoughtful jaunts of inquiry. Yes, they start out with an initial query or question. Michael intentionally deflects from answering the question outright, instead choosing to explore what surrounds asking such a thing. He tries to establish a baseline for answering the question by illustrating a variety of issues and thoughts both directly and tangentially related to it. The point is a bit more meta than that. Each video is based around the premise of looking into something that seems obscure or unanswerable. What he does is engage with the kind of thoughtfulness and curiosity that would inspire someone to ask that in the first place. He's an educator in many ways, and his role is to provoke curiosity in people. The reason why people might be aghast when somebody says something like
my problem with Vsauce is that they always end up going off-topic and come close to rambling.
is that you're misunderstanding what the topic of these videos actually is, and misconstruing rambling for a thoughtful effort to provoke curiosity in people. A personal anecdote would be his previous video on awkwardness. Sure, he could have flatly answered with an explanation of the biological mechanism that causes people to feel awkward, but that wouldn't be the point. What he instead chose to do was explore how we relate to awkwardness, and what kinds of lines of inquiry we should explore first, before we can really appreciate the answer to the question "What is awkward?" So what you're missing here seems to be that. If your only response to seeing such a strange question like "When Will We Run Out Of Names?" is: "Well, when will we?" then you've either a very short attention span or an unfortunate lack of curiosity.
ha not for me sonny boy I'm the last of a dying clan. No one in the world besides my immediate family carries my last name and i got the job to spread that name around like it's going out of style ((and progress with that ain't doin too well))

The last part of the video where he explains that our avatar is like a person we have created. Totally what I do. For some reason my usernames are a different person to me. It's odd. But, I also do the same thing for the "old" me. Me from a week ago isn't the same me I am right now.
