Species didn't have hybrids, it just had foeti gestating in 2 minutes and lots of alien stuff growing out of hapless women.
And the woman/alien had the entire appearance of a woman but had alien DNA or something; the hybrid in Splice is a physical blend.

The whole movie was about a human/alien hybrid, and there's plenty of time in the movie where she does look more like an alien.

Species is nothing like this movie.
Species is a monster on the loose movie. The fact that it involves sci-fi and so on is totally irrelevant. It could be any kind of creature on the loose.
Splice is not a monster on the loose movie.
Splice is all about this attachment the 2 have with there creation, and about who is on who's side.
She has nice legs.
