Hillary Clinton leads Donald Trump by 6 points, same as before FBI announcement, poll says
Hillary Clinton led Republican Donald Trump by 6 percentage points among likely voters in a new Reuters/Ipsos daily tracking poll released on Wednesday.
It is the same advantage the Democratic presidential nominee held before an FBI announcement that reignited the controversy about her email practices.
The October 28 to November 1 opinion poll was conducted almost entirely after FBI director James Comey notified Congress last Friday his agency would examine newly discovered emails that might pertain to Mrs Clinton's use of a private email server while she was secretary of state.
Mr Comey said he did not know whether the emails were significant and released no information other than that they existed.
His announcement drew outrage from Democrats who voiced concern it would unfairly influence voters so close to next week's election.
Mr Trump and other Republicans seized on the news to revive questions about Mrs Clinton's credibility.
Among 1,772 people who have either voted already or were identified as likely voters in the November 8 election, 45 per cent said they supported Mrs Clinton, while 39 per cent said they backed Mr Trump.
On Thursday, the day before Mr Comey's announcement, Mrs Clinton led Mr Trump by 43 per cent to 37 per cent.
i want off this wild ride
Posting about this individual poll because it'll give way to some discussion about whether or not the whole FBI thing means anything.
An interesting 538 article that basically implies this won't change the outcome at all: http://fivethirtyeight.com/features/how-much-do-october-surprises-move-the-polls/
please god just let her win and let us try again with some good candidates in 2020

Hillary winning is just a shady Obama for another 4-8 years. Her policies will keep up what Obama has done but she'll be an iffy president as a person. Better to keep going with what we know and hope for a good 2020 than jump off a cliff with Trump.
Gonna need a very good candidate to run against Trump's second term bid
Or just, ya know, anyone but Hillary.
Gonna need a very good candidate to run against Trump's second term bid
Bandit King Skullshredder is looking to be a pretty good challenger with his progressive view on water rations for slave wenches.

Trump would be too sore a loser to ever touch politics again.

Let her win, then convict her. Kaine can be President and probably wouldn't do much, let alone much harm.
Do we need a new thread for every new poll that contradicts the last?

Im fine with having 4 years of "Meh" presidency instead of America being transformed into a Russian like corrupted Oligarchy controlled by the Orange creature that is Trump. I still dont get why people would even think this man is a good "candidate". He immediately hit the "bad spot" of being a shitty politician by focusing the blame of US's declining economy on a single Ethnic group, he declared all Muslims are to be "Deported" from the US. This is the fucking 21st century, not the middle ages when people could just point at the jews or pagans saying they are the reason why everything is shit.
Sorry if i want "Crooked Hillary" in office, Just tired of all the idiotic hate.'
And even the military hates him.
More than 61 percent indicated they are "dissatisfied" or "very dissatisfied" with Trump as the Republican nominee, including 28 percent of those who intend to vote for him. More than 82 percent said the same about Clinton, the Democratic nominee, with 30 percent of those pledging to vote for her voicing displeasure with the choice.
it appears they are voting along party lines, but most dont approve of the canidates
The military hates him which is exactly why over 200 generals and admirals and 14 medal of honor recipients endorsed him
This is probably the greatest way to show your disdain for someone
I hope they weren't current generals. Pretty shitty thing to do if you're currently in the job.

Well that is most people this election. Not many are actually fully happy with their vote.
But my counter-point is that the Military really doesn't seem to like Hillary.

Lol no he doesn't. That's something he loves to quote but he doesn't actually have 200 admirals and generals endorsing him. The actual number is 88, and nearly all of them are retired.
Most military members hate him because if you bothered to look objectively at your candidate you'd recall that he has insulted the military time and time again in the election. Most of the Marines dislike him besides the motard's who want another war. He's only getting votes from the military because he's not Clinton, who has a bad reputation because of the Benghazi conspiracy theory.
Oh, and Romney had 500 retired generals and admirals supporting him very publically. There are 900 active generals and flag officers in the military, and thousands of retired ones. 88 is actually a rather pathetic number, and Hillary isn't without her own endorsements (91, actually). Hell, even the 88 number is shakey. One of the signatories is a major general in the 'California State Military Reserve', which isn't even in the US military.
Others include one who demanded President Obama give his birth certificate, one who was disgraced for his role in a 1996 aviation crash, and a special forces general with a knack for breaking OPSEC and trying to turn military campaigns into crusades. None of them have led a major combatant command.

I don't know where you got 200, the number I see cited is 88 endorsements. Hillary has 95 endorsements and some of Hillary's endorsers held a press conference denouncing Trump as inexperienced and dangerous.
Is there really nothing better to report and make news posts on other than daily articles/threads on Clinton is X points ahead in polls which are probably fairly unrepresentative anyway

Dude, the election is like less then a week away... things are ramping up and the news cycle shortens.
I don't think anyone really gave a shit.
Everyone that would care if Hillary broke the law already isn't voting for her. She could be proven guilty tomorrow, and I doubt her numbers would change in the slightest.
The only people who are watching the investigation are the people that already dislike her.

Most people don't actually like Hillary, and vote for her because they dislike Trump more.

shady Obama is redundant.
I have a feeling that +6% is pretty optimistic.
That said, Ipsos has an A- rating on 538, but on the downside, it's a daily tracking poll, and these are getting a wee bit controversial. You could probably attribute part of Trump's gains on aggregates to some tracking polls swinging wildly in his favor.

As long as the polling is consistent with itself, the methodology can be A-. That doesn't mean that the poll is spot on, but it means that it might just be consistently off by a certain amount, which makes it good for tracking how the race is going.
