[h2]What is it?[/h2]
Turntable is pretty much the definition of a "social music" experience.
Once your in you are greeted with the welcome page which allows you to select the room you would like the join; each "room" is pretty much the equivalent of a channel or stage.
Users can make rooms which has led to a wide variety rooms of almost every genre to choose from.
[h2]How it works[/h2]
The screenshot below shows the general layout in every "room"

On top are the users playing songs at the current time and the bottom bar is a rating of how much the users in the room like or don't like the current song playing.
The mass of avatars are the current users in the room.
The sidebar on the right has the chat as well as your personal queue where you upload or pick songs to add, which you can then play when you get up onto the stage.
There are only 5 dj slots available and the users up there can stay up there as long as they want. When there is an open slot you can just click on it to start dj'ing though you need a song in your queue first.
In the bigger rooms it's near impossible to get a spot, but most of the time the people up there are playing great music anyway.
I pretty much have turntable playing 24/7 on my computer. Turntable doesn't license the songs at the moment so remixes, unreleased, and brand new songs get played.
Also most rooms don't have the repetition of songs that most online music streaming sites have.

Though at the moment you need to have a facebook friend who is in the beta or need sign up to get an invite to use it.

Pretty fun but can be boring if you try to use it other than as a radio.

It's fun with a group you know.
It looks fun, but no one I know uses this, I'd love to use this as a quick way to show people the music I make, but I fear the only morons that are into music that I know would thumb it down because 'Unpopular music is bad!' seriously, if some song isn't on the top 100 pop charts, they refuse to listen to it :smith:

It's fun to use like Pandora. When I use pandora I usually get the most popular song from each artist, and I usually only get popular artists of whatever kind of genre I choose, but with this I get really different stuff I've never heard before. I usually stick to the Hip-Hop rooms though so I don't know how the others are.
If anyone really wants to try it and has no facebook friends with it I wouldn't mind adding people for it. You probably have a friend with it though and just don't know. I checked and had like 8 with it
I'm unable to add tracks to my queue, anyone else getting this?
Usually a refresh fixes most of the uploading problems.
It was a problem with Aurora, switched to non-beta Firefox and it works.

we had a room for the music section back in June, it was pretty fun, but everyone likes different kinds of music, so it would get to be a bit difficult to do a single room for FP.
If you're lacking an invite/friend, add me with the personal message "Bacon" and I'll be happy to help you grab an invite. I don't know if the friendship needs to be maintained, however.

I don't think it has to, I think it just checks your FB to see if any of your friends or you have logged in before.
Yeah, if anyone on here needs a friend to help em out with the invite process, I'll be able to as well; just as soon as I get my account working.

the 80s room is nice and friendly and plays some nice songs while not overplaying too many, i think it's pretty cool
