[editline]edit[/editline] Good god, my ceramics class just consisted of a professor who was really disengaged and boring. Nothing like this
jesus, how was that guy even able to hold onto that job
Jesus. If that wasn't a self-esteem kick in the nuts I dunno what is. No wonder he suffered from such cripplingly low self-esteem if that's the kind of people he has dealt with
Wow, what an asshole.
wow, G has a lot of self-control... honestly, if he did that to me, i don't think i'd be able to stop myself from shoving him to the ground and breaking a few of his precious ceramic pieces.

I've run in to a teacher like this before. Guy was using his class to just to fuck the students. In my case, it was the French teacher who would invite the, underage, students back to his apartment at night for "personal tutoring." He also went out partying with a seventeen year old girl one day. The following morning she showed up for a school trip massively hung over and vomiting with a dick drawn on her back in white-out. If you were in his class and not a girl, he hated you and wanted torture you and ruin your academic career as best he could for disrupting his fucked up plans. He made it clear in no uncertain terms how much he didn't like you.
anyway, is that true that withdrawing from a class is worse than failing it? my college told me the exact opposite
anyway, is that true that withdrawing from a class is worse than failing it? my college told me the exact opposite
At least in college withdrawing from a class typically doesn't actually count towards your GPA as long as you do it by a certain point. Usually it's right after the middle of the semester.
Well shit, he disabled comments.
For the first time in 9 years I've had to disable comments on a video due to people hunting the teacher down and attacking him. I'll take down the video if it continues and I'm honestly embarrassed about even telling the story now. Yes G and I had a shitty experience in the class, but not everyone did. This story was not meant to incite outrage at the guy and try and ruin him; it was just meant to be fun to listen to.
There's always people who take it too far
Ugh what's with the lynch mob mentality some people have, now he won't tell us juicy stories in the future anymore if it involves a douchebag.
Well shit, he disabled comments. There's always people who take it too far
Did they actually find out who the guy was somehow? Wow. How though, they have nothing to go by.
Did they actually find out who the guy was somehow? Wow. How though, they have nothing to go by.
Probably looked at the staff roster for the university of tampa, looked at male professors that taught ceramics, and made a few assumptions.
Well shit, he disabled comments. There's always people who take it too far
the internet terrifies me sometimes
Probably looked at the staff roster for the university of tampa, looked at male professors that taught ceramics, and made a few assumptions.
nah, there weren't any assumptions made, the guy was definitely him. pretty shitty thing to do and i figured cr1tikal wouldn't react well, although i wouldn't mind the guy getting a few prank calls and ceramic dildos sent to him.
Crafts teachers in general are pretty bad. I had an angry Greek man who was clearly intimidated by students taller than him, which made him try to act aggressive and in control around them. He wound up drilling holes in all of my work and accused me of trying to sabotage the school's drills.
Weirdly enough, the drawing teachers I had in fifth and sixth grade, and the one from seventh to nineth grade, were all a bit on the assholish side aswell. Especially the one from 7 to 9. It's like she wanted a bunch of kids to do perfect whatever we were doing then, and even if we did, she'd still give us a D or something of the sort.
Literally every single crafts teacher / instructor in my community of schools (Pre-K - Highschool) was a huge stick in the ass control freak, even over kids. And some other people I talk to from different areas all share somewhat similar experiences, something about teaching arts and crafts draws the worst kind of people.
I had a middle school (6th grade..? I dunno how to translate that to not-american education system stuff) math teacher that hated my fucking guts, every iota of my being just because she had my older brother (by 10 years) as a student and he was an awful, disruptive student who didn't do any work. So, obviously, because I was related to such a snot, I must have been the same way no matter what and had to be treated as such. I would have been a good student if it weren't for that cunt, she made me feel so small and worthless. I failed so much stuff in her class and generally didn't do well in math/algebra at all because she would pull so much bullshit and the higher ups would just turn a blind eye. Wouldn't give me a textbook for the entire year because she oh so conveniently "ran out" as soon as she got to me (whom she had placed me in the very back of the class), often "forgot" to give me homework and reprimanded me when I came in the next day with nothing to turn in and called me a liar when I said she never gave me any, and I swear to God she INTENTIONALLY tripped me on my way out of the classroom once when the bell rang and made me spill all my shit. She did a whole lot of other more minor things as well but was generally a huge bitch to me constantly. Really, that entire school was garbage for a plethora of reasons I won't list unless someone wants me to. So garbage that after the first year was done, my parents took me out and placed me into online schooling which worked out just fine. After I graduated high schooll, we later found out that the principle of the said old shitschool was arrested and imprisoned for repeatedly stealing money from the schools and a fundraiser for a disabled student to blow it all on his gambling addiction. ... Yeah.

My old school had this design tech (basically the woodworking class) teacher who spent over 30 minutes of almost every lesson yelling at us that we keep wasting lesson time, he also made terrible jokes that the class felt they had to laugh at to be polite.
Reminds me of the only truly awful teacher I've experienced, my old maths teacher who we shall call Mr.J. Mr.J was a mean, snide, condescending, spiteful husk of a person. Aside from treating everyone like debris, he could hold a grudge against anyone whom he deemed an idiot (which was a lot of students) and was kinda notorious for his malice, giving out punishments and detentions for wrong answers, was sarcastic and just downright vicious in all of his answers and "help" that anyone was dumb enough to try and ask for it. But what I most vividly remember was whenever he got angry... you knew it. For a spindly man he could fucking shout and make everyones blood run cold, he could stun a class of 30+ teenage idiots into a terrified silence. I mean fucking hell its been more than 10 years since those classes but just thinking about it makes me tense up in my chest/ almost panic about it.
we should make a dedicated thread for shitty teacher experiences in grade 9/10 my english teacher was a hardcore feminist who was super hard on all the guys and super easy on all of the girls and the one gay guy, she'd put stupid questions on exams like "who said this specific sentence on this page in what chapter of this 600 page book". most students failed entire tests because of stupid memory game shit.
Man, for a moment there you almost feel vicariously traumatized by the story.
snip Is this him?
It's probably for the better if we don't know.
reminds me of Whiplash
snip Is this him?
probably the guy who's actually listed for ceramics and who's website has been bombed??? (not going to link it)
That's so many levels of fucking brutal. Like, I totally abandoned university because my tutor asked me "are you sure you should be here?", but that's different. When your own fucking professor is so full of himself and disconnected from his purpose as a teacher that he completely disregards the notion of someone trying to at least say they are doing their best and destroying their efforts in front of them that usually when weapons and violence gets involved. Holy fuck I commend G for keeping it together.
I'm pretty glad that I never had an art teacher like that. The only one I can think of that comes close to that is the one I had in middle school, and even then, she was more of a disgruntled woman who was annoyed with kids using their phones during class rather than a excessively strict and vicious maniac.
