So you know what pisses me off?! You guessed it:
MAIL THEFT!!!!!
AAARGH!
So anyways. I'm looking for advice. I recently bought something from ebay and was awaiting its arrival. It was taking longer than i had expected so i checked my email and lo and behold USPS confirmed it's delivery to my house on the 16th. Now I'm asking, what are the chances it WASN'T stolen, but lost or delivered to the wrong house? And if it was stolen what can I do about it?
Has anyone else had this happen to them or something similar? We've never had the problem of mail theft in the past. Anyways, Its a real bummer.
Yeah I fucking hate that.
That's why you should have your shit mailed to a P.O. box

Check if the package is insured. USPS may be liable for damages. They're certainly not supposed to abandon packages at your front door.
I'm fairly certain it wasnt insured

then Sue them for abandoning the package at your front door.
isn't the receiver of the package supposed to sign a paper, stating that the right person received the package?

Usually only for large orders. I've had dozens of packages dropped at my front door not to be discovered until hours later when I go out to lock my car or put some mail in the mailbox.

They can't expect the packages to be the receivers responsibility, if it's just dropped off at their front door.
well, the package wasn't small. and ive pretty much checked all over my front yard and door area. so its either been stolen. or shipped to the wrong address. which is always a possibility i guess.

They usually knock or ring the doorbell.
But yeah, it's not the best, but the USPS doesn't have time to fuck around.

Contact them, and insist you didn't receive your package.
If it's a large package you have to sign for it or put it in a pre arranged "Safe place" or they take it back to the depot and you have to pick it up.
If it can't fit through your box or in your mail box they are not supposed to just abandon it.
I don't get it, they just leave your package on your doorstep? Here ( In Ireland ) they will knock over a few days, and after that leave it with a "neighbour" or take it to the depot where you can pick it up yourself.
Well i've bought a number of large items online and not once have we ever had to sign for them. they just leave them behind a small pillar in the front.
It's probably just been delivered to the wrong address.
I'd build a secure locked large metal box with a giant slot labled, PACKAGES HERE!
The package goes in, drops slightly so it can't be removed by other people, and bam giant mailbox of protection.
File a police report and call up USPS. You might get your insurance payout on it.
I make sure my large orders MUST be signed at the door, otherwise you have the chance of getting theft.

In america if you give it to your neighbour to give it to you, they will 9/10 times steal it.
And becaues of obama it will be about 11/10 times.

How?
When I ordered my PC parts, I didn't have to sign for anything. They all just kinda came in three different boxes + a case, they just left them there.

In America we also have this odd phenomenon called "republican policy". It's sad to see it ruin the country from the inside out.
