Evening all!
So yeah! I've been on anti-psychotics for about a year now or so for an intense psychotic episode. Background information for people who don't know me: My nan (grandmother) has (diagnosed) severe schizophrenia where she gets a huge injection every month. My mum has a history of depression because a lot of our family members have died, all of whom we were very close to. It's believed that this (grievances) is one of the contributing factors to my episode. Others of which are sixth form pressures (I went to one of the top sixth forms in the country where you had to wear a blazer with emblem and tie) and the obvious one - inheritance. So carrying on my episode seems to have subsided and my medication is gradually being reduced and my psychiatrist appointments less frequent. I saw one of the top psychiatrists in the county (Not to be confused with country :v:) and he says it's a breath of fresh air for him to see somebody who's made as much progress as I have in such a short time considering the severity of my episode .
Wow I've rambled a lot, sorry! Ohnehin, I've been smoking weed for about 3 months straight now (pretty much every day). I haven't told my psychiatrists, they would go insane (:v:). Oh shit, I forgot to mention which medication I'm on. I'm on:
Citalopram (anti-depressant)
Risperidone (anti-psychotic)
Procyclidine (side-effect reducer, no idea what it does)
Gah, I'm starting to lose train of thought. Remembering, I plan on taking some other drugs during the course of this year -just to experiment. Most of the drugs I plan on taking are psychedelics (With the exception of coke and mdma) and I was just wondering...with the medications that I'm on now, are there any dangers I should be aware of with certain drugs? Do you have any experience/knowledge? I'm absolutely hopeless at using Google for searches like this.
I hope I haven't rambled on too much, don't judge me. I can't really think of much else to say so I'll end it here :v:
Peace
You're taking Anti-psychotics and Anti-depressants, and still smoking weed? :wtc:
I didn't read the whole op due to my attention span being that of a goldfish but that Risperidone will make you FAT. Not just chubby but FAT. I was on it for a couple of years and at one brief time I went from 130lbs to 170lbs. Then in a couple of months to 199lbs.. I got off of that shit and I weigh about 170 something now.
Just be sure to get off of that Risperdal. It is horrible. (Even though it is HIGHLY effective).

I did that. I mean shit, I still take anti-psychotics now and I smoke weed.
I'm on pristiq and deplin right now, anything I should be concerned about as well? I don't mean to steal the topic, but it's the best place to ask.

Eating makes you happy. Eating lots is making you happier. Plus food has essential stuff for brain to function and has lots of precursors for brains neurotransmitters.

This is the culmination of scientists saying that there is a high risk of psychosis from weed, it isn't as bad as everyone says
hey OP, don't do anything but smoke weed and sip on drank (only a little booze, doesn't mix well with most meds, including the ones you're on) if you know what's good for you.
least till you get more stable and off those shitty meds (trust me side effect meds that aren't benzos don't work for shit, plus these meds fuck with most recreational drugs)
yeah dude wen i got prescribed to citalopram, i refused to take it. i mean, i dont need that shit to be happy. i dont wanna live my life around making sure i take a drug everyday or else ill get side effects. i smoke weed instead and i couldn't be happier with my life. i dont NEED it, but i use as i want. i didn't smoke weed today, and i feel good still.
Went i got prescribed heavy anti psychotics (max doses of this shit, im tellin ya, and just on the market, was literally experimental a month before i was prescribed the max dose) they actually brought out psychotic symptoms. mainly racing thoughts that were as crippling as cluster headaches
If you have any close relatives that have schizophrenia I would suggest not smoking weed very often, if at all.
weed doesn't do much except exacerbate symptoms. like if you hear voices it'll make you hear more voices
In fact it helps with a lot of things and problems i have. backpain (i got a twisted spine), headaches, anxiety, sometimes violent tremors, insomnia, trouble eating anything (ever since i got off this one med food generally makes me feel ill), depression, the list goes on and on and no meds have ever helped me with this stuff. and when i stop doing weed things slowly go back to normal, they never get worse, and i know what my baseline is cause i was sober most the past year and a half long and sober for periods after that. in fact even without weed like if im taking a couple days break my general quality of life is improved.
but if you do have mental problems be careful with weed, and if you notice it does exacerbate symptoms to probably cut back or stop entirely.
