Ok just 5 minutes ago i was searching for an sbep download for gmod. I went to a website i THOUGHT had it (it said "sbep" in the site description.) Then, it directs me to a site that is meant to screw up ur comp. It said it detected over 300 trojans, and wanted me to delet all those folders, which were crucial folders. I tried to exit, and then it tried to automatically download something. A message from Avast! just popped up saying there was a threat detected and i aborted connection.I had to ctrl+alt+delete for it to go away. Anyone else experience something like this?
I don't really see how this is worth making a thread about.
No because either chrome warns me of sites like these or my antivirus blocks that shit.
Get Web of Trust
Oh god.
i used chrome...
You deserve to get a virus. You just fell for one of the oldest tricks in the book. An ad came up pretending to be an alert from your AV, and you clicked it, consequently allowing the site to upload a virus to your computer.
An evil usb drive cursed my netbook a few years back.
It's a rogue AV you dumbass, try and avoid things called Windows 7 Antivirus 2010
over 300 trojans?!?!?!
Well, that's not very good, but why did you have to make a thread about it?

Someone else said it, but get WoT, really useful.
Happens sometimes to my grandpa. He blames it on my sister though.
over 300 trojans?!?!?!
Just no horse or any spartans :P
over 300 trojans?!?!?!
Well atleast it wasn't spartans, I mean pfft if it had he wouldn't be posting now.
Just use Microsoft Security Essentials, it's the best AV in my opinion.
I had this once. Only it said "Windows XP Security Center" (wasn't a popup either...) and I was running Vista. FAIL Got it from a torrent website while downloading a linux image. Don't trust those anymore. Got my shitty McAfee messed up on my server which screwed up my admin account. I uninstalled McAfee to install Norton and it fixed it right up!

sysguard.exe is an annoying one, but easy to get rid of.

Danger to the manifold
My friend's computer came with Kaspersky and he uninstalled it and put Norton on there. :v:
over 300 trojans?!?!?!
Fucking Spartans.
Stop the press!
Shouldn't you be worrying about those 300 trojans? They're in your computer right now!!!!
Got it from a torrent website while downloading a linux image
right
