IGN It's pretty tempting, but I don't think I'd really pay for the 3G service that much to warrant the purchase, plus I'd rather get the next size card anyhow. still, this move seems like Sony is unhappy or afraid of the Vita's reception in the State's, maybe because of it's poor performance in Japan. Still, for anyone who was on the fence and was planning on getting the 3G version, this is a pretty good deal, and could potentially be awesome if the PSN game is Escape Plan or something. Edit: Forgot to mention, if by chance you have preordered the 3G version already, I heard they're supposed to bump you up to the 3G launch edition at no cost, but you might want to make sure of that with your specific retailer.
It didn't really perform poorly in Japan. It just didn't sell a bajillion copies on release. 500,000 in its first week is pretty decent, just saying.

But really, it's the consumer who's going to decide if Vita is successful. Despite Sony trying to nickle and dime people with the memory cards, the Vita looks like a pretty decent system. That said, developers are only going to make really good games if people are buying games on the platform. Personally, while I loved the PSP for homebrew, it really wasn't suited to playing dumbed down console ports. The Vita on the other hand is leagues ahead of the Vita with just the addition of the second thumb stick makes me confident that gaming is going to be a lot more enjoyable on the vita. The fact that the games look amazing is just icing on the cake.
I wonder how this will do against the 3DS, the handheld market is completely different than last generation's handhelds, now smartphones have basically pulled all of the casual gamers away
Who is saying it did poorly? 500,000 units of hardware sold in the first week is really good.
Quite a lot of people seem to think it did poorly. I've even heard some people say they've never seen anyone with vita and yet they've seen many with DSi. They are the people who are not aware it's not out outside japan yet.
I'm not particularly in the market for handhelds, but all three 3DS games I want are remakes of past games :v:
3DS has some great originals, though most are first party games (which is basically the norm for nintendo consoles) Mario Kart 7 and Super Mario 3D Land are both particularly excellent games, and I heard the new Resident Evil is great
What other good games is release for PSVita other than Uncharted: Golden Abyss
so the 3g version is only $20 more than the wifi version after factoring memory card prices. $20 is worth it for the gps alone as there is a very cool feature where you can "drop" your game high scores at a specific spot and pick up others in the same location its like you can battle for the best wipeout track times at the bus stop or starbucks etc... its hard to explain but the GPS is worth it
Well the fact that uncharted will be available at launch is already better than the 3ds launch games.
What other good games is release for PSVita other than Uncharted: Golden Abyss
More or less what I'm interested in. From most anticipated to less. I already pre-ordered Uncharted. Escape Plan Ultimate Marvel Vs.Capcom 3 Rayman origins Wipeout 2048 Army Corps of Hell Touch My Katamari Modnation Racers: Road Trip Yeah a few of those are ports, and others are lack luster (Modnation not having online play), but I think it's fair to say the Vita launch blows the 3DS launch out of the water. In total, Vita is launching with over 20 games.
If dark souls or demon souls gets on the Vita, Im getting one.
Brand New Metal Gear Solid on Vita
And then the prices of 3/4G eats up your Steam Sale money jar.
And then the prices of 3/4G eats up your Steam Sale money jar.
It isn't that expensive, stop assuming everybody is poor like you.
Sony aren't even making an effort to advertise the Vita in the UK. I haven't seen a single television advert or poster advertising its existence.
It isn't that expensive, stop assuming everybody is poor like you.
What exactly warranted that [editline]28th January 2012[/editline] Also piracy was a huge killer for the PSP, devs weren't getting any money so it wasn't worth developing anymore.
