Three of the show's leads - Johnny Galecki, Jim Parsons and Kaley Cuoco - will sign new three-year contracts that effectively confirm an eighth, ninth and 10th season of the show. The contracts will deliver them $US1 million per episode for the next three seasons of the show. They previously received $US325,000 per episode. The deals also increase their windfall from the show's "back end", that is, revenue from US re-runs and international TV and DVD sales. The show, which is a top-rating property in the US for the CBS network and has been an invaluable part of Nine's programming strategy in Australia, has been running for seven seasons.
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-28649068
Three stars of US hit sitcom The Big Bang Theory have signed lucrative new contracts, putting to an end a brief delay in filming of new episodes. Jim Parsons, who plays lead character Sheldon, Johnny Galecki (Leonard) and Kaley Cuoco (Penny) all agreed to new three-year deals with Warner Bros TV. Actors Simon Helberg and Kunal Nayyar are still involved in negotiations but are expected to settle shortly. It was reported the stars were each seeking $1m (£600,000) per episode. Such a settlement would make The Big Bang Theory's cast members the highest paid actors on US television. Parsons, Galecki and Cuoco had been negotiating with the studio together, according to the Hollywood Reporter, which added that it was "likely" that a $1m per half-hour show deal had been sealed.
1 million per fucking episode what the fuck is this?
I'm mildly disgusted at how much they're making.
Not worth it.
Holy fuck.
I wish I could get a million dollars for a few minutes of pretending I have high-functioning autism and saying babzoople
Fuck off, this is disgusting.
After reading things like this, I feel sorry for cops, EMTs, and firefighters considering the money they make and the work they do compared to the actors or professional athletes.
I wish I could make this much money for being unfunny.
Now an even bigger reason to hate the show
Are you fucking serious? And here I was thinking the quarter million they got per episode was already disgustingly high.
After reading things like this, I feel sorry for cops, EMTs, and firefighters considering the money they make and the work they do compared to the actors or professional athletes.
Part of that can probably be attributed to the fact that taxes have to pay for a lot of those jobs, and giving them such high salaries would run an entire community into poverty. TV shows like this print money, which is why they can probably afford it. The same goes for sports. I'm not saying it's acceptable, but it's certainly an unfortunate situation.

Good for them, they know how to make mad money by doing regular shows that have existed for decades, if the show is making dough, they are part of it and they should get it since without the actors, there's no show at all. They may or may not deserve it but they sure are (even if hadly) working for it.
Guys lets be honest here for a second, I know hating big bang theory for literally everything is the hip and cool thing to do, but raw viewer numbers state that its the #1 comedy airing on television right now BBT re-runs draw higher viewer numbers than South Park first runs. TBS bought the rights to air re-runs for 1.5 million per episode The show is an absurd financial success that is basically carrying the entire studio network into 1st place viewer ship. It's going to generate over 1 billion dollars in profit even after the pay renegotiations. If they're not paying the actors who define the entire show, where the fuck do you want the money to go? charity? executives? [editline]5th August 2014[/editline] fuck getting ninjaed posting from my phone
There are jobs out there that are more deserving of $1M wage than saying bazinga and zimbabwe every 4 seconds
Oh boy, it's hate Big Bang time again! Just dropping this here:
I literally watched the entire series idk where people get this unfounded idea he spews this out 20 times every episode. He says it a few times in the series at most (a series with 159 episodes) and the only reason Facepunch seems to think that it's more than that is because it was popularized in the media. I doubt any of you complaining about the show have watched more than one episode. It's just a silly little catch phrase that you're blowing out of proportion.
It is the number #1 comedy on television, so obviously many people think it's funny, but again most on Facepunch doesn't see how humor is subjective. Everything they like, everyone else should like. What they don't like, is obviously bad.
How about a decent and even split for the many, many filming crew, assistants, designers, writers, cinematographers, etc, etc, that work just as many long and difficult hours getting it to production standard
Because they are replaceable, the actors which are basically the symbols of the show aren't. Sure they might work just as hard, but you don't see them on screen so it doesn't matter. This is the case with every show, and it isn't fair of course, but life never is.

If you're in your 20s, it's basically 25+ dollars an hour, huge overtime, paid meals, travel pay, etc. Much better than a lot of semi-skilled jobs out there. Obviously if you're a PA then your life fucking sucks but most people are PAs.
scrimprumple
Considering how much money Warner Bros gets from the show, I guess it's a fair deal.
Hah, remember when the thread about these delays was floating around. Good business decision on their part.
If they're not paying the actors who define the entire show, where the fuck do you want the money to go?
I dunno, maybe some interesting and unique series that aren't shite grinder-mill pap like Big Bazingo Tootoo? Plus, are you seriously telling me that it's A-OK for them to get a per-episode wage literally more than the combined yearly income of my entire street?
comrades, now you see the need for communist revolution join me, for we shall build the communist state!
I honestly tried giving the show a chance. All I got was just a bunch of awkward sexual references every minute and "haha im nerdy".

-snip due to red-eye retarded post-
