A team of scientists are getting close to finding a cure for HIV. Experimental tests on humans have now started in Denmark. Dr. Ole Sögaard and his group of scientists are developing a treatment that lures the virus out from it's hidings, then the body's immunity system will take care of the rest of the HIV-cells. -I'm almost certain that we will succeed, says Dr. Ole Sögaard to "The Telegraph"
Source (In swedish): http://www.aftonbladet.se/nyheter/article16683549.ab
If this turns out to be a cure. It will be amazing.
For the 5000th time
For the 5000th time
It's called progress. They don't say "We're nearly close to a cure!" then throw all their findings away.
For the 5000th time
You never know when they will succeed for real. I hope they do this time.
For the 5000th time
It says they started human testing. Most of the might-be cures you heard about here didn't (I believe) so that's certainly a step forward
You never when they will succeed for real. I hope they do this time.
OhgodwhatamIreading?
OhgodwhatamIreading?
Fixed it for you baby!
For the 5000th time
You know that developing a cure takes a lot of time, right? Every time a small discovery which can lead to a cure is made, it is news. Even if it's purely theoretical.
Fuck yeah, Denmark. And this seems to be an actual cure, not just treatment.
Why is it something about Denmark but in swedish news? :v:
Why is it something about Denmark but in swedish news? :v:
'cause Swedish news never have anything good to report, so they steal ours. :v:
I sure hope we can beat HIV soon.
Holy shit good one Denmark. Man it's gonna be sweet if they actually manage to cure it.
Holy shit good one Denmark. Man it's gonna be sweet if they actually manage to cure it.
I believe the danes do the best eye surgery too
Why is it something about Denmark but in swedish news? :v:
Scandinavia can be a very country-like entity at times.
Nobel Prize material
Scandinavia can be a very country-like entity at times.
nah, I looked it up - verge covered it too but no - as much as we do cooperate - this isn't the case.

i <3 humanity sometimes
nah, I looked it up - verge covered it too but no - as much as we do cooperate - this isn't the case.
We're still a very country-like entity. Like whatever happens in sweden or denmark may end up in our newspaper the same day, vice versa.
i <3 humanity sometimes
i'm sure the leaders of the world were waiting with bated breath to hear this
The main reason cures fall into obscurity is becase minor hitches in the testing stages, be it on animals or humans can hinder or flat out stop all production on it.
Tabloid newspapers usually aren't good sources for this kind of news
R.I.P. HIV, you wont be missed
I've never understood how they can make things attack Lymphocytes.
Found the full study: http://dx.doi.org/10.4161/hv.23202 via PubMed. So, this article may have some credence to it.
Once stds are gone, there's nothing stopping me from having sex with any and everyone... oh, wait. I'm the reason nobody has sex with me.
developing a treatment that lures the virus out from it's hidings
wait what
