Who else here loves them as much as me? I don't think i will ever buy new clothing again...except maybe underwear and whatnot..haha. Right now i'm really into the 90's look with babydoll dresses removed and rompers with mary janes and combat boots. Anyways, just wondering who else on here is thrifty? I like going to thrift stores. You never know what you might find. I found a 1923 Underwood typewriter for 2$ one time.Currently it's sitting on a shelf in my room.

so buying second hand/vintage clothes makes you a hipster now?
I usually don't go to thrift stores for clothing, I go to get things like board games.I picked up a old board game called 'scoop!' bought it for $19, if I got from a vintage game store: $100.
money well spent
I bought it to use it a decoration. What the fuck am I going to do with an 80+ year old typewriter? It doesn't have an ink ribbon so I can't use it.
I went into a thrift store with my hipster girlfriend and the amount of hipsterfaggots I found in there was outstanding. It didn't exactly help that it's half a mile away from the university's main campus.
so buying second hand/vintage clothes makes you a hipster now?
there's nothing wrong shopping at thrift stores, just hipsters tend to idolise it as " omg, so vintage, look at this old military jacket, you wouldn't know anything about fashion because you shop at Gap."
Alex_DeLarge speaks the truth. Thrift stores are either filled with people who live in a trailer, or hipsters who think buying unused clothing is too mainstream.
why does the link look like a referral link to me? "rid=" looks so sinister...
I hate the idea of wearing clothes someone else already has.
Thrift stores are the best! I got so many RockBand foot peddles for like, $4! And drum sticks... and another GH guitar! You just gotta search, and hope that the owners are old, so they think that electronics are just kid's toys... so they give them kid's toys prices!
I probably wouldn't go there for clothes, but there is always neat stuff in the electronics/small appliances section. Also books.
Alex_DeLarge speaks the truth. Thrift stores are either filled with people who live in a trailer, or hipsters who think buying unused clothing is too mainstream.
I don't live in a trailer and I don't buy ass-ugly 'vintage' clothing, so where do I fall in? :colbert:
i buy a lot of my clothes from thrift stores they are the best for really old jackets and coats [editline]14th June 2011[/editline]
I went into a thrift store with my hipster girlfriend and the amount of hipsterfaggots I found in there was outstanding. no because thrift stores are too mainstream
no because thrift stores are too mainstream
Hipster: Tier 2
I would buy clothes sometimes, if the stores near me had any sizes bigger than a small. Size 8's and 10's only fit models. But I have things horrible thing about buying mugs, I have quite a few mugs from thrift shops.
I don't live in a trailer and I don't buy ass-ugly 'vintage' clothing, so where do I fall in? :colbert:
The exception to the rule. Duh. I've shopped at thrift stores when I was looking for shit for costumes, but past that, I don't go there.

It's cost effective. Sometimes get a nice hookup. Ancient but useful hardware in the electronics sections. A $5 unused Italian cotton/silk sweater I got once.
I'm not sure why, but I seem to be the only person to realize this is a really clever bot/advertisement. I swear this is the third or fourth time I've seen this giftmadesimple link.
why would you go out with a girl that's a hipster if you apparently hate them
Because I've been dating her for years, long before she got into the whole trend.
why does the link look like a referral link to me? "rid=" looks so sinister...
RefferalID? Either way thrift stores are only good for getting Nintendos and Typewriters.
