FP I come to you today with a tale of great woe and I can't help but lose tears as I type this with one hand, the other lovingly stroking soft furry ears. I wish I had pictures I could upload but I can't be bothered right now. Bambi is my dog. She is a cross between a Collie and Sheltie, 2 of the smartest dogs. She weighs right now, I would guess 35-50 pounds. My family picked her up from a fresh batch of puppies when she was only months old, I was about to turn 6 at the time. I'm now 17, and this beautiful, stubborn, kind, gentle, smart member of my family is now 13. I do I have a little sister, but she's a total bitch, and for that reason I see Bambi as a little sister.. In the first 10 years we had her Bambi was the most curious and and curbed dogs around. She was house-trained in a week. She never ever barked inside the house, she never bit anyone, she was never spayed but never went to be a dog-slut for the male dogs. Later on she got way too smart for her own good - she wouldn't come to you unless SHE wanted to. She knew tricks like roll-over, shake-a-paw, dancing, speaking. She enjoyed eating the generous amounts of people-food we gave her, playing soccer, hunting skunks, going for walkie-walks, and especially car rides. A bit more than a year ago we noticed a growth on her rear left leg. Over the summer it grew bigger, and bigger. We thought it was a cyst. The local vet drained it several times but it got bigger each time. We had X-Rays taken and the news was given; she had a cancerous tumor. Soon after that, in the recent December she had her leg amputated. She struggled for a while, but in the end she was ok. Soon enough she was pretending not to be able to go up stairs, so that we would carry her, or that she couldn't move so we would sit with and pet her. And then yesterday.. she was going for a walk and got into a fight with a cat, which kick started some sort of Anemia, and for the last 12 hours she has been largely immobile.. not eating, not drinking, not moving. I sit here with her now scared I might lose the only friend who has stuck by me for 13 straight years, a sister who taught me how to love family, this man's best friend. Bambi I love you and I know I won't forget you. She looks just like that but shorter.

I shed a manly tear.
that's life.
pics plox
why must you taint this thread?
Have a Heart man...
My dad's dying too (for real) hug please!
Oh boy. I never really know what to say when somebody's upset. Are you certain that she's dying? Have you been to the vet about this?
Take a picture for memories sake, or you might regret it.
My dad's dying too (for real)
Implying that the OP was bullshit.
Oh my that's horrible. I remember losing my puppy in the first week. They get attached so fast and it's truly saddening when it does happen. I hope Bambi get's better, she'll be in my thoughts and prayers.
how about you take it to the damn vet instead of making a thread about it on an internet forum.
that's life. my avatar was my face reading the OP by the way.
You're such a horrible poster, just stop
She isn't getting better, she has secondary internal cancerous tumors and is consistently losing red blood cells. Fuck everyone who shits on this thread, you really can't make my day worse by being a trolling faggot because if anyone deserves to die today it's most absolutely you.
...so I post it on Facepunch

You have my sympathy, but... You named the dog Bambi? What?
Name a thread "my (thing) is dying" never ended well
Simalar thing is happening to me dog. Except it is wayyyyy slower progressing. She has kidney failure, but things have been looking up as hey kidney function improved over the past months. I really know what it is like to lose a best friend such as a dog and i really hope it gets better.
You have my sympathy, but... You named the dog Bambi? What?
That isn't much of an unusual name really.
