• What is childhood?

I got into an argument with my mom about Santa Clause. I was just ranting at a commercial and she jumped in like a paratrooper and broke her legs trying to create a conversation. This lead to an argument over childhood, and what is a socially accepted childhood. I recalled when I was a child and found out Santa doesn't exist I became extremely pissed. It wasn't the lieing, it was the hypocritical nature of the lie. I was kid so cut me some slack but I never fully let it go. About a few years ago I vowed never to tell magic lies like Santa, the tooth fairy or the Easter bunny. My mother said I was taking the magic out of childhood. When I pressed that science can sometimes be much more magical than actual magic she scoffed. So now I wanna know what you guys think what childhood is. I know its facepunch so I'm expecting trolls and the like. I don't believe there is a concrete childhood but what someone using their own creates. SO it differs from person to person. So what do you guys think?
Childhood ends when you: Understand what your dick (Or vagina) is used for Are no longer called a moronic kid on Facepunch Can start using cups that don't have lids on them.
Childhood is when you believed in any of the following. -Monsters in bed/closet -Santa Claus -Easter Bunny -Tooth Fairy -Things in TV are actually real -Boogeyman -Your dad coming back after he divorced My childhood stopped at 6.
ages 1-12
Childhood is defined by the age before someone can post on facepunch without being called a stupid kid
Only mikfoz and VNL hold that power.
I kill little children and weave their skin in to a hoodie, thus, childhood.
Innocence, not having to worry about the world, just what is happening at that moment. The carefree worry free lifestyle.
I kill little children and weave their skin in to a hoodie, thus, childhood.
Can I get one of those in a Large?
Childhood ends when you: Understand what your dick (Or vagina) is used for Are no longer called a moronic kid on Facepunch Can start using cups that don't have lids on them.
I guess you're a moronic kid then.
I kill little children and weave their skin in to a hoodie, thus, childhood.
My personal favorite right now.
I guess you're a moronic kid then.
How long did it take you to formulate that response?
How long did it take you to formulate that response?
A few seconds. I figured I had nothing good to say about this particular topic I my as well just insult someone.

I had similar thoughts to you when I was like 10, "I'm not gonna tell my kids these damn lies", but it's not a lie, it's just a bit of fun and niceness.
Childhood ends when you: Understand what your dick (Or vagina) is used for Are no longer called a moronic kid on Facepunch Can start using cups that don't have lids on them.
IN all seriousness though, so you thinks its over when the discussion of the birds and the bees is given?
A few seconds.
Mainly because you only used something I said and turned it back around on me, its not very clever, you know.
And I don't think you understand what chirstmas is. So what if santa isn't physically real? He represents the spirit of giving. Childhood is Saturday morning cartoons, and your favorite cereal.
Mainly because you only used something I said and turned it back around on me, its not very clever, you know.
I sure do care, please, tell me more.
Childhood is Saturday morning cartoons, and your favorite cereal.
I would say videogames and cartoon shows. Not Santa.
I understand what Chirstmas is, but I don't need think giving lies to a child is very giving.
But it's not lying. Santa is just the manifestation of the christmas spirit, so what if santa isn't physically real, doesn't mean the spirit of christmas isn't.
I sure do care, please, tell me more.
Sarcasm is insults for the lazy. Try a Gunnery Sgt. Hartman approach.
Sarcasm is insults for the lazy. Try a Gunnery Sgt. Hartman approach.
I might if I wanted to get banned for flaming, its not very clever, you know.
But it's not lying. Santa is just the manifestation of the christmas spirit, so what if santa isn't physically real, doesn't mean the spirit of christmas isn't.
So telling my children that I gave them toys to make them happy and because I love them is not spirit of giving. BUt saying a big man in a red suit who gives toys to every child is the spirit of giving?
I understand what Chirstmas is, but I don't need think giving lies to a child is very giving.
Sure, throw away culture because you got pissed when you found out the truth.
I might if I wanted to get banned for flaming, its not very clever, you know.
And there you go again taking something I say and turning it back around. Learn to insult correctly before you go and insult people.
So telling my children that I gave them toys to make them happy and because I love them is not spirit of giving. BUt saying a big man in a red suit who gives toys to every child is the spirit of giving?
You do realize they'll find out eventually that Santa isn't real, just let them have their time to make-believe, imagination is just as important as logic.
And there you go again taking something I say and turning it back around. Learn to insult correctly before you go and insult people.
lmao k buddy.
Sure, throw away culture because you got pissed when you found out the truth.
Why not? Especially if its a trivial truth. Santa does not make a child hood.
imagination is just as important as logic.
Einstein-esque approach, is it not?
