• Meditation and It's Benefits

Meditation is the art of completely clearing one's thoughts and distractions from their mind. This does not mean only focusing on one thing. This means losing focus of everything, turning off every sense you have, and just being. Do not feel, see, think, smell, hear. Just be. Meditation can provide clarity, relaxation, and can also be used in various spiritual and religious ways. There are many types of meditation, I'll start with the most basic. 1) Find a spot to sit. It can be cross-legged on the floor, in a chair, on the stairs, upside-down on the ceiling. As long as there is no distracting pressure being applied to any part of your body, and you can easily relax from the position. The space should be quiet, and light should be dimmed and static. 2)Slowly relax the muscles behind your eyes. This is usually the hardest part for many people, because we are so used to moving the eyes constantly. Be aware of your head. Be aware of the space it takes up. Be aware of the space inside it. Be aware of your eyeballs, the space sorrounding them and the space they occupy. Feel the nerves at the back slooowly relaxing and letting go. Feel the muscles on the side of your eyes falling limp, and relaxing. 3)Breathe through your nose. Focus on the sensation caused at the end of your nose. If thoughts arise, do not fret, just acknowledge them, let them float through your mind, and return to not thinking. Another method, is Chakra meditation. Chakras are the energy meridians of the energy that flows through every one of us. There are 7 major chakras, though many more minor.. debated to be from 13 to the hundreds. 1) Follow the first steps given above, reach a space of clarity and calm. 2)See yourself filled with a white light. Don't just see it in your head, but close your eyes, and see your center of your body actually filled with light. It spreads throughout your limbs, and begins radiating outwards around you, 6 feet in every direction. 3)This white, healing, pure, energy that is the white light should be everywhere within you. At this point, visualize it extending a pole from the bottom of your abdomen into the ground, through the rock and earth, to the core. Let it draw energy from the molten core of Earth. 4) 1st. Chakra - The Root Chakra This Chakra (Shaw-Kraw) is located between the Anus and the Genetilia. Imagine it as a sphere, spinning counter-clockwise. As you breathe energy into it, it begins to glow read, radiate further out, and spin faster. You may (and probably will, if you're doing it right) feel a tingling sensation at the spot. This is GOOD. 2nd Chakra - The Sacral Chakra This Chakra is located just below the belly-button. Imagine the sphere, spinning counter-clockwise, this time, filling with orange light. Follow the directions for the 1st Chakra, and you should feel the tingling. 3rd Chakra - The Solar Plexus Chakra This Chakra is located in your solar plexus, the soft spot in the center of your chest. It spins counter-clockwise, and is of yellow light. 4th Chakra - The Heart Chakra This Chakra is located parallel to your heart, in the center of your chest. It is made of Green light. 5th Chakra - The Throat Chakra It is located in the base of your throat, right where the soft spot begins and your chest bones end. It is made of baby-blue light. 6th Chakra - The 3rd Eye/Brow Chakra It is located between your eyebrows, just above your nose. This is made of darker, indigo-blue light. With this chakra, it is common to feel a slight pressure instead of, or accompanied by tingling. 7th Chakra - The Crown Chakra This Chakra is located the top of your head. It radiates purple light. You may have noticed that the Chakra's follow the spectrum of the rainbow, or visible light, this is of course absolutely no coincedince. It is possible, with practice and meditation, to see one's aura. Around each chakra, the colour of the chakra will dominate (Auras are scientifically proven, no shitstorm needed thx). You may at some point begin to feel any of several side effects of this (not bad ones, of course). Muscles twitching - This is the release of blocks of your energy. Chi, Ka, Life Energy, Prana, etc. It is a scientifically proven electromagnetic energy around each of us. Through life, without acknowledging this energy, it can become blocked and stop flowing in spots. Do not be alarmed if this happens, it will probably feel very good anyway. You may feel as though you have begun to float. This is because conciousness is literally raised, and your Spirit/Awareness/Soul is beginning to expand and become fully aware, radiating outwards. It should not be expected every time you meditate, though it can. Visuals may occur, from colours swirling, to full on visions. Make whatever you wish of these, what I've said already is probably controversial enough for FP. Wether you meditate to relax, or for spiritual/religious purposes, there is no downside. Beginners might like to start at 15 minutes every other day. I recommend meditation in the morning. If you don't "Have the time to", get up a few minutes earlier, it will benefit you the rest of the day. You will feel energized, relaxed, and positive.
Hate to say something negative since you put some effort into the thread, but shouldn't you provide some links to where you got this? (pretty obvious you got it off a site, particularly because of the info about the Chakras)
Maybe he read it from a book? Or just knows all this?
I didn't make it up. I've learned it over a while, I've memorized the information.
I know an autistic girl who's obsessed with this kind of stuff, it's kind of creepy.
so the drugs thing that's over?
I didn't make it up. I've learned it over a while, I've memorized the information.
Sorry then. It had just looked like it was copied from a website, so my bad.
so the drugs thing that's over?
This has nothing to do with drugs..
This has nothing to do with drugs..
surrrrre

Personally, I think acupunture is cooler.
Personally, I think acupunture is cooler.
Acupuncture has all the effectiveness of healing maladies as sacrificing virgins has at stopping volcano eruptions.
Now hang on ther son. Meditation may have practical medical benefits, but what's this wapanese chakra nonsense?
what the fuck is wapanese this is Hinduism.
http://www.metacafe.com/watch/2174763/qigong_master_boils_water_with_his_hands_pyrokinesis/ Now tell me eastern science is bullshit.
Wooo dude that's some scaaary shit. Internal sevice error. I feel sorry for ever doubting you!
Works fine for me...
Acupuncture has all the effectiveness of healing maladies as sacrificing virgins has at stopping volcano eruptions.
Yeah, but having needles stabbed in to you is balls to the walls.
what the fuck is wapanese this is Hinduism.
That's beside the point.
That's beside the point.
No it's not, you're being a racist ignorant because you're close minded. GTFO plzkthxbai
These are all psychological things anyway. [editline]01:08AM[/editline]
No it's not, you're being a racist ignorant because you're close minded. GTFO plzkthxbai
k
Works fine for me...
Ok, it's a guy that makes heat with his hands. And what is this supposed to prove? You haven't shown what makes this happen, you've simply supplied me with an occurrence and said, "alright now eastern science = prooved". [editline]08:11AM[/editline]
No it's not, you're being a racist ignorant because you're close minded. GTFO plzkthxbai
And your use of GTFO means you can't spell full sentences, correct?
Ok, it's a guy that makes heat with his hands. And what is this supposed to prove? Also, "all in the mind".. what's wrong with that? If it's real to you, it's real. If it's caused by your mind it's still the same effect.
K sucks you don't believe it. Also, "all in the mind".. what's wrong with that? If it's real to you, it's real. With science. What you believe simply dictates how you experience reality. And if you're fine with self delusion then you're dumb.
Wait, don't believe what? The fuck are you on about? No, reality isn't dictated by what you believe. That's why we test things. With science. So if science hasn't figured out how the Venus Fly Trap closes it's mouth I'm probably imagining it right?
When I meditate I just sit down and l stare at something inconspicious, like a wall or something, and just think about all the shit that's going on. It's alllllll good.
so the drugs thing that's over?
-1/10
Love is Jewish now?
http://www.metacafe.com/watch/2174763/qigong_master_boils_water_with_his_hands_pyrokinesis/ Now tell me eastern science is bullshit.
The good old tinfoil trick. Anyway, meditating is very relaxing yes
Ok, that's neat. So if science hasn't figured out how the Venus Fly Trap closes it's mouth I'm probably imagining it right?
No you are not imagining it but that doesnt mean that you can make up some bullshit story about how it closes.
