I've been thinking a lot lately, about what is it all for? Why are we here, and is there a Godly existence behind everything?
So I did some research on the matter (meaning Google it).
An found out that some of you already knows, that Google wants the answer to be 42.

That just raised a new question, why 42?
It seems that it comes from a book The Hunting of the Snark, by Lewis Carroll.
The story behind it was someone had made the second greatest computer of all time and space was built to tell the answer to the question of life, the universe and everything. After seven and a half million years the computer divulged the answer: 42.
It seems to me like a loose end so what do the good people on facepunch think the answer to life is? And what are we here for? And why are we here?

And btw thank you for reading.
Edit:
And how would you have created a planet a society and species if you could? and why wold that be better than our planet is now?

How about The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy and its sequels by Douglas Adams?
[editline]12th June 2011[/editline]
Also it's rumored that it actually had some meaning that should be possible to be figured out.
Attempting to find the answer to the meaning of life is meaningless.
To lead a fulfilling life, doing the things that you enjoy, and die surrounded by a loving family?
There is no meaning of life. Life is meaningless.
To live.
to survive and reproduce
That is a question asked by Nature, and answered by Death.

Douglas Adams consulted John Cleese on the matter that is how he came up with 42. He asked Cleese to think of something so obscure that it had to be the meaning. Cleese thought of 42.
Why does life have to have a meaning?
This thread is made every other week
There is no meaning of life. Life is meaningless.
If life is meaningless, everything is meaningless. Then why does the word "meaning" exist?
Life is what you make it, there isn't really a "correct" answer to the purpose...yet
Psychological meaning of life: To think about the meaning of life. It's a giant mindfuck.
Biological meaning of life: Procreation.
Life has no inherent purpose that we know of. All the more reason, as intelligent and imaginitive beings, to give our lives their own meaning.

We're all just here by chance, enjoy it while it lasts and make the most of it.
That's how I see it anyway.
The answer to this is very simple. It was a joke. It had to be a number, an ordinary, smallish number, and I chose that one. Binary representations, base thirteen, Tibetan monks are all complete nonsense. I sat at my desk, stared into the garden and thought '42 will do' I typed it out. End of story.
I think that the meaning of life is subjective, so OP's meaning is to Become a better poster.
I'm actually interested in how he "discovered" that 42 comes from The Hunting of the Snark.
It's so absurdly wrong that I don't understand it.
