On one side, i feel bad for Ubisoft.
But on the other side they totally deserved the critism.
Why do you feel bad for Ubisoft? They treat people like shit and act like they didn't do anything wrong.

While taking everyone's money, no less.
Ubisoft may have fucked up on the odd occasion but the games they publish are consistently of high quality bar the odd exception like Watch Dogs, which is still arguably a decent game.
There are some bug/port issues, but nowhere fucking near as bad as with EA and that Simcity bullshit and the head-to-toe extreme levels of technical incompetence in BF3, where the performance was terrible, the loading times were the worst I have ever seen for any game, taking up to 5 minutes, and featuring a CTD after every single round without fail on my system for the first couple of months after release
In fact as far as I am aware to this day the only one of those issues EA have fixed are the crashes

You mean BF4, right?

I feel like I'm reading something from someone with Stockholm Syndrome.
Ubisoft fucking hates you because you play their games on PC. They don't like you, they think you're a pirate and they will try to inconvenience you at every turn if you legitimately purchase one of their games, if that game even runs well in the first place.
Yeah, I'm sorry fans of Ubi but to me Jim is 100% right, Ubi can go fuck themselves.
Also, why the fuck do PC ports even exist, why aren't they console ports?!

Because it's cheaper to create a shitty version right away for a platform that sells more copies at a higher price than to create a higher quality version that you have to spend time downgrading to work on consoles.
Then there are games like Watchdogs which were designed as PC games originally but were then forcibly downgraded to look like utter garbage even on the original PC build so the console versions sell more.
After Ubisofts PR reaction to the Watch_Dogs mod, I just find them hillarious.
Why do they get away with such shit? They keep flubbing and yet they're not slowing down, it's like Gearbox.
He didn't mention the time Ubisoft used a Reloaded crack as an official no-cd patch.

On the contrary, I'm not naive enough to view corporations as people or evaluate their morals when I'm buying frigging video games from them.
This is hardly underpaid child workers in shit conditions producing the product level idiocy anyway, where I would maybe justify the aforementioned attitude. Steve the neckbeard doesn't feel loved doesn't compare, and not being able to play a game for a short period on launch is far from the most technical bullshit I've seen, I've had that with a few Steam games even.
There are two things that apply for pretty much every Ubisoft game I've bought in memory:
1) It at least works on a basic level, without crashing repeatedly or having game-breaking bugs
2) It was not extremely inconvenient to play, disregarding the 2010 always-online DRM fiasco I missed.
I can not say the same about EA (Simcity, BF3 and 4), SEGA (R2TW) or Take-Two Interactive (GTA IV was a bitch, wiped my data halfway through twice)

Oh no no no. BF3 on launch was a fucking travesty. Up until that point I had never played a more broken or dysfunctional game outside of the truly bottom-of-the shit-heap budget games I'd tried like Gettysburg Armoured Warfare, and BF3 was on a level so shit in this regard I don't feel embarrassed to admit to having bought that game
They ruined Ghost Recon, Splinter Cell, Rainbow 6, Brothers in Arms, Silent Hunter, Assassin's Creed, and Watch Dogs. I will never ever buy from Ubisoft again unless The Division turns out to be fantastic somehow.

I don't remember it being this bad, but I remember the level of disappointment.

And yet, I liked the newest Ghost Recon, BIA, Silent hunter, Assassin's creed and am enjoying watch dogs, though I will continue when I get my new pc wednesday.
I'm sure the Division will somehow get shafted, but I trust Ubisoft enough from a technical standpoint to let them make a functioning game.

I have to disagree for the most part barring Ghost Recon, haven't played Brothers In Arms except for the first one or Silent Hunter
To be brutally honest GRAW 1 or 2 (I forget, I played it for ten minutes) was the fastest game I've ever lost interest in, the movement speed was so slow it was unbearable if I recall correctly
The latest Splinter Cell/Assassins Creed/Rainbow 6 games were great (ok disregarding Conviction and AC3, forgiving on the basis they actually learnt their lessons well in their respective sequels) and while RSV2 was a large departure from Raven Shield and its expansions, it was a good game in its own right.

You enjoy the F2P Silent Hunter game? I can understand SH5 somewhat at least, but the F2P game is such a downgrade from 3. It shouldn't exist.

It's not being developed by Ubisoft Montreal so I still have hope. It's coming from a developer that has had two great PC titles and was bought by Ubisoft a few years back.
I like Ubisoft because I like tinkering with broken ports.
For the rest of the sane population that's not a good thing though.

I'm not really sure how the R6 and Ghost Recon series ended up as grossly warped as they are today, but I'm pretty sure it's really fucking disrespectful to keep sticking Tom Clancy's on the front of them.
[editline]23rd June 2014[/editline]
Also why the hell was Ghost Recon: Online/Phantoms even fucking F2P?! Making games F2P when they don't need to be breaks the balance and makes the concept of a progression system even more unbearable.
