ah yes
Because memes are funny ever like doge was that ever funny? no
Its because they become popular.
relevent memes are the worst you're a humorless dipshit if you spout them they have no context at all after a certain point of use and stop being jokes [editline]6th September 2014[/editline]
Its because they become popular.
it's less that it's popular and more that it's abused constantly with no context at all because people think thats "Funny"

imo things that become memes are usually pretty dumb in their non-mainstream original content form anyway
Because they get used everywhere, especially in unfitting situations like ad's.
Because they get used everywhere, especially in unfitting situations like ad's.
"Buy Bills soda today! Such good! Much taste!" meme spouting ads and TV anything, that shit is unbelievable cringe-worthy, the poor attempts at trying to be relevent and trying to be funny just blow like a tryhard people who think meme's belong on TV are twats.
I don't even know when the last time I laughed at a meme. 1998?
in a very certain context i can admit some of them have been capable of getting a big laugh out of me, ive seen some cringeworthy ones though. basically any of the ragecomics just get a sigh out of me though
Didn't reddit completely ruin that "Arrow in the Knee" meme in less than 24 fucking hours?
I get douche chills every time I watch this guy.
and seriously broke my immersion (shut up) when I first played the game.
I agree, the amount of times guards said it just completely killed walking around in towns for me. Like the others lines said in abundance were fine because they were things that many guards would say, like staying out of trouble. But for every guard to whine about how he/she took an arrow to the knee ruined the experience. Like maybe if there was just one unique guard that used the line it'd've been better.
On a less serious note.
Because memes are funny ever like doge was that ever funny? no
Doge was pretty funny at the start, when they were just pictures of dogs in different situations with captions that went beyond "such X, many Y" and were actually sort of creative. Now it's all just the same shit.
Some memes were never funny to begin with. like the whole "aay lmao" thing, i still dont get why its supposed to be funny, is it a reference to something? Doge I can understand because it has such a silly look on its face.
They are novel, and novel things get boring quite fast for most people. Memes and injokes are also human techniques used to establish common ground and enforce group mentality/community building. As soon as the joke isn't something special to your group, the group will generally reject it.
