We were just talking about this in the Valve thread. They've really killed it this time.
Reddit is reporting that all trades from these sites are being blocked via Steam Escrow, auth or not.
nice to see csgolotto on there
Well i guess that answers the question if this ban includes betting because csgolounge is on the list.
csgoatse :ohno:
CSGOLotto appears to have ceased operation, but there is no message. It's just showing no new trades.
GG
Also, typo in the thread title.
opskins, csgoshuffle and csgojackpot are not on there.
I guess they're being sent out Cease and Desist letters in waves?
Edit:
And to those who think the letter is fake, its not, multiple people have confirmed it as legit.
Note scrap.tf/tf2scrap.com isn't getting killed, relax geel9
CSGOLounge is though, they're a banking site, aren't they?

CSGOLounge had a betting site attached to its' banking/trading site. Soo that's why they got hit.

Why would opskins be hit by this? I thought they only worked as a real-money reseller?
Why would opskins be hit by this? I thought they only worked as a real-money reseller?
basically anyone who uses the steam api for trading, or rather making money, is getting hit. that is why sites that ONLY use real money won't get hit because Valve has nothing to say over that.
Why would opskins be hit by this? I thought they only worked as a real-money reseller?
because they're going after anyone using steam accounts (Bots) and their API to run a business

People better hurry to cash out on sites like csgodouble. I doubt they'll let their users withdraw but rather just shut down, keep the skins and blame Valve.

Fantastic
Pretty sure Valve didn't liked it because they don't make money out of the gambling sites. But this is good news nonetheless. GG wp

Valve did not profit from them directly, but they still profited indirectly. The only reason they've taken this act is becuase of the recent events. IF it wasnt for the moumental tidal wave of shit being unearthed then valve would likely still have maintained their fingers in ears stance.

they might not have made money directly, but theres a lot of items that rose in price because they're gambling/betting items (like assimov skins) which means that they made a little bit more money from the steam market. however, its probably barely anything and its better for them to save their public image :v:
Rip golounge
Rip easy money

I figured it was Valve letting it slide because it wasn't causing problems and the community was fine with it--until recent events, at least. Nothing wrong with recreational gambling and betting, but with some ugly sides being uncovered the community started speaking out against it.
If Valve just out of the blue started banning these sites, there'd be some outrage from the community.

Plus, it could be a ticking time bomb.
More problems and lawsuits could had come from these, and I guess there could be chances that they could go through and actually hit Valve.
thank god theyre not deleting loot market, I have 2 dollars on my account there
I wonder what Tmartn and psisyndicates responses are

So long and thanks for all the money idiots
Coming from someone with no knowledge of CS:GO or anything related to it, why were these sites an issue?
