Wow. Just, wow.
People should know well by now that Kickstarter isn't an assurance of their expectations and thereby should avoid backing. This could easily be Psychonauts 2 in a few months, and a large chunk of those who backed it will be greatly disappointed.
I hope someone hires him, he's a good guy.

Wow I feel terrible for this guy. I hope he can rebound from this.

Wow that's fucked...
haha that's fucking gold

Yeah, it's a sad truth that unless you've got money to burn in the first place, a lawsuit that isn't rock solid isn't worth it at all.
RIP to any chance of a worthy SimAnt successor
Luckily it was only $5,000. That is the size of a ant compared to Tim Schafer's hooker bank. EDIT Tough crowd lol
Fuck man thats the type of shit that would drive a person to suicide. I hope life plans to fuck over all those responsible.
haha that's fucking gold
Yeah people screwing a guy over because they're selfish little shits lol so funny
Yeah people screwing a guy over because they're selfish little shits lol so funny
I feel sorry for him but you really can't help it when the title is worded as "I tried to make a game but my finance director spent all the cash on crack and hookers"
I really hope karma bites those awful people in the ass hard
Yeah people screwing a guy over because they're selfish little shits lol so funny
Some things can be hilarious and sad at the same time. I feel for this guy, he's left in a terrible situation by huge assholes, but the situation itself is just so absurd.
I really hope karma bites those awful people in the ass hard
I've seen people's lives ruined by internet assholes for less, fucking over a nice little game dev guy like this is probably going to get some solid ire not only from backers but the general community and despite his statement legal pursuit wouldn't be worth it due to them just being able to claim drinks were for 'business meetings', if he can pull receipts on shit like the strippers he'd have a pretty solid case I'd think, BUT depending on the total cash that was actually spent (they only got 5k?) though, it may just not be worth it it's also really sad seeing most of the headlines saying "devs spent money on" when it seems like the only actual developer is the one that got fucked over

my god
That's a lot of alcohol and strippers.
The worst part is that the fuckheads who spent all the money were the dev's friends for 11 years like holy shit
I've heard of people fucking over their friends for huge amounts of money, but this isn't even a lot of money what the fuck.
idk about anyone else in this thread but 5K is a decent chunk of change and I would be utterly fucked losing that, we shouldn't act like 5k is nothing. at least it wasn't any of his personal funds
The worst part is that the fuckheads who spent all the money were the dev's friends for 11 years like holy shit
I dont think they were even truly friends if they are willingly to screw him this hard
I really hope karma bites those awful people in the ass hard
This is not a craft for the faint of heart. These guys were simply doing what AAA marketing teams do already, in the same fashion with the same results. The people in the trenches often take the most heat when shit goes south, even if they worked their asses off to make things good for their customers. Seems no one has paid enough attention to 3DR and THQ.
Why would you form an LLC with and give equal share to two people who do literally nothing?
Likely didn't read the full contract if he trusted them. Plus I don't think he ever dreamed they would pull shit like this. He definitely didn't go over the contract at all just judging by what he's saying (He didn't know they wrote themselves in as consultants, didn't know they wrote in that they could claim the money to use for "business meetings", etc)
