• Giant LEGO Man Appears on Florida Beach
By Mike Krumboltz, Yahoo! Buzz Log We've heard of people finding messages in bottles on the beach, but how about an 8-foot-tall LEGO figure? We first saw the news over at BoingBoing. Apparently a man was out walking on the beach near lovely Siesta Key in Florida, when he came across "something" laying in the surf a ways away. He went to investigate, and what do you know -- it was a giant LEGO man. On its torso was a message, reading "No Real Than You Are." Yeah, we don't get it either. Nobody (at least nobody official) is sure why the plastic figure showed up on the shore. We spoke to Amanda Santoro, Assistant Brand Relations Manager at LEGO. She declined comment but did say that the "stunt" was "in no way endorsed or sponsored by the LEGO Group or its affiliates." OK, so does that mean somebody stole a giant LEGO figure and planted it on the beach? Well, maybe. Believe it or not, this sort of thing has happened before. Several years back, a giant LEGO man washed up in the Dutch resort of Zandvoort. That same figure (or perhaps a twin) also appeared at a Brighton beach in the U.K. Is this the same LEGO man? Did it really cross the ocean by itself? Or was it placed there by a jokester? No way to know. For now, though, check out the video below of people marveling at the discovery. Staged or not, it must have been an odd way to start the morning.
Source
I remember the last time one washed up, in Europe.
I for one, welcome our Lego overlords. After all, who would better rebuild the infrastructure than lego?
It becomes alive only when no one is looking at it
There's something unsettling about the message that was on it. Maybe it's just me.
They're trying to tell us something, but what? :tinfoil:
Would've been better if it were embedded in the sand.
It'd be so cool if it were compatible with existing Lego bricks
They're trying to tell us something, but what? :tinfoil:
I think "No Real Than You Are."
Legos are actually aliens. The LEGO corporation nuked their homeworld, kidnapped their children, and stole their buildings, but not before some escaped. The legos we've been playing with all these years are the offspring of a once-great civilization, and their parents are coming back...

Very similar to the Hot Dog Statue story:
Lego land just opened not far from there (midway between Orlando and Tampa).
Creepy shit.
perhaps an existential statement that should incline us all to look at the lives we lead after all, he is no more real than we are [editline]26th October 2011[/editline] jesus christ this isn't the only sighting, one washed up on a beach in the netherlands http://uk.reuters.com/article/2007/08/07/oukoe-uk-dutch-lego-idUKL0787011420070807
Will we have to make them a flag of some sorts if they take over?
And then humanity went to Jupiter, and beyond, in our Lego spaceships.
It is a lego trojan horse, full of mongolians
i honestly think it's staged :V the lego minifig does not look weathered down AT ALL, it looks perfectly mint condition. although that could just be me.

What if it was part of that huge wave of debrees from Japan? Drifted off and got off course from Hawaii.
if you think about it logically, if the minifig crossed the ocean, it would probably have a few holes in it some place... lego minifig arches anybody? a fucking arch.
It's a secret publicity stunt by LEGO. They won't acknowledge it. I mean who would have the resource to make a giant plastic man like that?
Sounds like an SCP.
Well there is a Legoland being built in Florida, guess we have our Statue of Legoman.
I think "No Real Than You Are."
on the back it said, Ego Leonardo, like a soccer jersey L.Ego!
this would make some good creepypasta
IT BEGINS
I've been to that beach numerous times. And out of all the old saggy people in speedo thongs, this definitely the weirdest thing I've seen.
