Actually, probably not dub or dubstep or whatever, I just use most of the same techniques so it's all good. Just a couple of tunes i busted out with similar samples, thought i'd give 'em a post. Made in fruity loops 9 (wish i used 8) Trigger is 160kbs so it may be a tad fuzzy, not sure why i haven't fixed it. Also i'm not a serious artist, i'm not looking to get famous or anything, just a hobby. C&C appreciated but you can just enjoy if you feel you can :) QMath: I know what your thinking, but no, i didn't use slayer, even though i might as well of. I just like the sound the sample had (especially in the lower frequencies, if you know what i mean ;) You may notice the double bass near the end, i too thought it was risky and well some will like and some won't, personally, i think it adds tempo to the song and gives it a good jump, but if you hate it's fine. Trigger: Made this song around the drumbeat. Intro was tacked on at the last second and some of the bass needs to be clearer. This is probably more of a dubstep type track, lots of variation and funny noises. Same low feq samples as the first but used more sparingly this time. Also, I'm thinking of moving from fruityloops to some other software, recommendations would be cool. Just something that would offer more than FL, even though VST/sample support seems to be most of all the stuff i need, i just fancied something new and interesting.
If you expect any worthwhile criticism of your music, you need to host it somewhere that isn't Youtube. You're not Supercell, it isn't Nicovideo. That shit just doesn't fly. What I can and will give you is this: Altering the pitch of an electric guitar sample too much automatically makes it sound like ass. So right off the bat, you shot yourself in the foot- You'd have been better off using a few layered synths with one of 'em distorted for that part. Trust me, you're not gaining anything by having that sample there.
What does the host have to do with criticism? I like the sound the sample gives, it's nice and dark, but i get your point. I'll remember it for future tunes. Anything else?
What does the host have to do with criticism?
Youtube isn't an audio host. They're a video host. There are flaws with their audio playback by design, which makes it difficult to listen to music and difficult to judge it. And regardless of whether or not you are one of the lucky few who manages to get their audio hosted there seamlessly (and you aren't), it's an annoying way to share music with people. Nobody wants to stream your track while looking at a still image. Use Tindeck, Dropbox, Dump.no, anything actually giving us the file. If you absolutely have to stream it, put it on Myspace, Newgrounds, or Imeem.
Nah man, you just sound like a "the games shit because the graphics are shit" whiny bitch. And i STILL fail to see how it affects criticism for these under produced tunes on youtube, its an easy host for streaming. All the others = unnecessary hassle on my quick time basis
It sounded like random looping music with no genuine flow. You should try some more mixing between your "variations and funny noises".
What do you mean by mixing between my "variations and funny noises"?

Pretty much not worth hearing at all then, lad. But let's be honest, you're not hosting on Youtube for convenience (because it isn't any faster than using any of the hosts I've mentioned outside of registration.)

And by saying it isn't worth listening because of it's host is stupid and childish. It plays at a quality that is fine, getting anal over it is a bit silly. *[sp]In WMM[/sp]

Everybody has heard of Myspace and Tindeck's pretty known by, oh, I don't know, everyone who works with music? I mean, shit, I've yet to see an audio forum that didn't have a thread to the effect of "what's a good music host lololol" with a stock reply that included it. http://www.tindeck.com/ Register. Log in. Hit "browse." Find file. Click "Start Upload." Share hotlink. Stop being a defensive twat. And no, the quality is not "fine." You got hella clipping going on, among other things, and it's hard to tell how much of that was you cocking up the video, Youtube degrading the audio, and just poor mixing in the song. Now, if you hosted it somewhere decent, I could actually listen to the music in a proper quality, tell you what specifically was clipping and you could reduce or limit that shit and you'd have a better track. As is, after 2:45 it's just a total spoogefest and I can't give you anything constructive beyond "your host just sucks" or "your track just sucks." You really seem to be pushing for the latter, which is sad.
Okay man, i'll re-host then perhaps you can give some constructive criticism.
You're way too aggressive for your username dude. [editline]06:42PM[/editline] cool songs by the way

I just think it's easier to make a bass in Reason than in FL
