(CNN) – If Congress passes the COINS Act replacing the $1 paper bill for a coin, the U.S. government may be able to save billions in printing costs at the expense of a little more jangle in the average consumers' pockets. But what about the strippers?
That's what The Hill newspaper asked one of the bill's co-sponsors, Sen. John McCain, in a piece published Thursday. The question came from a separate 2011 story where the publication suggested strippers could suffer in a bill-less economy, with G-strings and garter belts far less accommodating of cold metal.
See? McCain knows what's up.
i don't think people would tip strippers with $5's personally, though I wouldn't mind being proven wrong
The solution is simple: make all strippers wear striped stockings.
That way, my stocking fetish is satisfied and they have a bag to hold all them coins!
I only tip my strippers minimum 10 bucks you cheap fucks.
I wonder how the strippers will feel about getting pelted with coins.
I'm not sure wether or not the article is trying to insinuate that it is morally objectionable for McCain to argue that strippers should be tipped
If it does it's a pretty cheap shot. I thought CNN was better than that

I pay mine in bonds and stock options.
In Canada we put our 1$ coins in Stripper's coin slots.
If you know what I mean
It always seemed weird to me how you guys still have a bill with such a tiny value.
Our biggest coin is currently 50CZK which is about $2.5. The smallest banknote is 100CZK, so about $5
We used to have something comparable to $1 banknotes like, five years ago, and even then it used to be super rare, and also, then the value actually still used to be higher cause inflation and shit.
As a Canadian you can be thrown out of strip clubs for trying to tip in Loonies and Toonies.
I thought last we tried the dollar coin people got pissy about it being dumb because it's harder to carry pockets of coins than to fold bills up

Dunno why they would get pissy, unless the coins are the size of a drink coaster. We have £1 and £2 coins, notes start at £5.
this also assumes that as soon as a 1$ coin is minted, all dollar bills will immediately disappear from circulation and become worthless
there will still be hundreds of thousands, probably millions of dollar bills floating around, and people will still use them. strippers need not worry about running out of money to put in their underwear, at least not for a long while

They'll just probably be slowly replaced when it goes through the bank or something.

Oh man, can you imagine how much a million dollar bills would be worth?

I've found American $1 bills to be annoying to use compared to Canadian $1, $2 coins.

Why is the 50 cent in there? I've literally never seen one in circulation, only in collections.
I hate having to carry coins
I hate having to carry coins
But the sound of them colliding with each other is so satisfying to hear.
I've seen a surge of $1 coins in circulation in the past few months. They're not exactly rare.
I hate having to carry coins
i would be fine carrying them if wallets could hold coins
Coins are so inconvenient! Why would you carry around a pocket full of coins when you can just fold a bill into your wallet?

Is it rare?
