Facepunch, I'm afraid I suffer from a condition called, "Neighbor Prickishness," every weekend for the past few weeks, my house keeps getting pelted by eggs by two kids, but we don't know who. Two eggs are thrown every time, so we can at least determine how many there are. My family has installed something that will alert us when somebody comes near our house, but it usually goes off a little too late. We've tried finding the parents of the perpetrators, and calling the police. But we haven't been able to find anything but other houses egged, and without a local police department, it takes too much time and effort to get someone to patrol our neighborhood.
We're pretty sure there's some connection to this and some kids that despise my younger brother, but we don't have any proof of anything. The eggs are starting to get harder to clean too, they start freezing overnight and become a tiresome chore to clean up. Our windows, roof, and doors keep getting pelted and nobody in the family has any idea how to catch them without buying equipment. We don't want to have to buy a security system we're going to use once for two kids. They come out when it's dark though, so we can't see where they run and catch them. While patrolling the neighborhood we saw one kid, I ran through three of my neighbor's yards chasing after him in my socks, he ended up getting away in the darkness and I got to pull splinters from my feet for the rest of the night.
I'm really getting sick of this, and I'm out of ideas that don't involve me sitting outside in the below freezing weather, what have you got up your sleeves Facepunch
Break into every house in the state, Find 2 kids. Strangle them. Assume problem is solved
Set up a camera, record, get their faces, find them, press charges.
I had this problem. Install some motion-activated lights around your house, so that when someone moves around in your yard at night they turn on and the vandals think, "Goddamn, they've seen me and that sort of shit, I should leave!"
Hide in local shrubbery with a metal bat. The rest should come naturally.
Get one of these.

They're cheap, too. A good motion-activated floodlight can be found for twenty bucks at a Wal-mart or regional equivalent.

It would be cool if you could upload that to somewhere. Hotlinking can be expensive on the domain getting hotlinked from - 'specially because this is a high-traffic forum while the domain it is hosted on barely gets any traffic.

Get a serious looking sign saying that your house is being watched by police or something. A sign that's intimidating enough to get people to think twice before egging.
