Just hours before the official start of the drive to recall Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker from office, the group spearheading the effort said that its website was the victim of a cyberattack on Monday. United Wisconsin, the group working with the Wisconsin Democratic Party in the effort to recall Walker, said Monday evening that its website went down at about 2 p.m. The site was back online about six hours later. "Early this afternoon, United Wisconsin's website www.unitedwisconsin.com, was the victim of a cyber attack. Our web team reports that this attack was coordinated and deliberate its target," the organization said in a statement. The FBI and the Wisconsin attorney general's office has been asked to investigate, the group said. "Clearly, this was done to deny the people of Wisconsin access to the materials we are providing for the Walker recall efforts. The attack, what is known as a Distributed Denial of Service Attack, flooded our servers at approximately 2 p.m. At this time the source of this attack is not fully known. "Despite these efforts to stifle the voice of the people, United Wisconsin and its partners are not shaken. The efforts to recall Scott Walker and Rebecca Kleefisch are continuing as planned," the group said. The website crash came just as United Wisconsin embarks on the daunting task of collecting more than 500,000 signatures within 60 days in an effort to force a recall election. “If Scott Walker and the Republican Party are really concerned with protecting the integrity of the recall process, they will immediately condemn the criminal cyber attack on United Wisconsin’s website and call on Attorney General J.B. Van Hollen to launch a full investigation with the assistance of the FBI," the state Democratic Party said in a statement Monday night. “The laws of Wisconsin and the United States were clearly broken tonight in a desperate and illegal attempt to stifle the voice of the people by denying access to Wisconsinites seeking important information on how they can join our grassroots effort to recall Scott Walker," the party said. "The criminals that launched this attack must be apprehended." At 8 p.m. Monday, the Republican Party of Wisconsin issued a statement saying it "does not condone or support any misconduct or foul play by any outside groups or rogue individuals to interfere with the recall process." The Democratic Party said that while its website was fully operational Monday, "our online vendors have been notified of the attack on United Wisconsin’s website and are actively monitoring our servers for suspicious activity."
Source: http://brookfield-wi.patch.com/articles/website-of-group-organizing-scott-walker-recall-victim-of-cyberattack My state is fucked up.
IT's funny because the charts say that his reforms are working. And this is the second time they've done this. And they say REPUBLICANS cry alot? Hypocrites.
You're with him, you're against the people.

Who seriously is saying that breaking up collective bargaining works to improve the situation other than Conservative groups like Americans for Prosperity or The Heritage Foundation?
Unions were formed to stop huge corporations from exploiting the workforce. How is getting rid of what are essentially employee advocacy groups helping anyone other than corporations who want to cut their expenses in order to pocket more profit? What SHOULD be done is a coordinated effort to weed out corruption among all the various unions. The only thing worse than a corporation exploiting its workers for personal gain is the union exploiting their members for personal gain when those workers expect the union to stick up for them.
Probably some pro-walker republican group
A conservative version of anonymous? Excuse me while my brain implodes as it tries to comprehend this anomaly.
A conservative version of anonymous? Excuse me while my brain implodes as it tries to comprehend this anomaly.
Don't be silly. Anon. couldn't evolve into something that mature and complex.
Don't be silly. Anon. couldn't evolve into something that mature and complex.
For one thing Scott Walker is acting like a republican. Conservatives are less complex, but slightly more mature than Republicans. Both are not as mature and complex as a Mitochondrion, which are in turn far less complex than Anonymous. So when you think of things relativly, Anon, is already more mature and complex than Scot Walker
I guess you could say, they want him to get off scot-free.
Well he certainly isn't going to walk away from this one.
I guess he can't bargain his way out of this
already downloaded the recall papers. Going to get family to sign it.
Sure the site didn't just go down from people hoping to sign up. Like our uni network does every time class signups open. (and the thing has pretty beefy servers)
I hope the recall goes through so this asshole stops shitting all over this great state
Wouldn't be surprised if Walker himself was involved; that guy is hilariously fake and deceptive. I love how every time he's on tv he's wearing this red and blue suit, like he can get people to associate him with the American flag and consequently patriotism.
Oh god I just found this picture from my thread about the protests
