Honestly NC used the fandub because using the Japanese and subtitles would've been extremely boring material to work with.
And the fandub is so bad at times that it makes for perfect jokes on the side, although you can't really blame the anime itself for that.
The one thing that the fandub did absolutely right is making goombas the most chill species ever.
Even taking away the fandub, this anime looks fucking ridiculous.
