Holee-fuck.
I might actually buy a ticket if they will release it here (maybe just in a obscure movie theater).
I personally hope this move really makes a huge impact like LoTR did.
Can't watch it right now, is it better then the leaked one that only showed orcs before?

The quality is nice, but the volume is low, and you'll have to turn your speakers up to hear it.

I know this isn't final stages nor is this an HD upload but anyone else find the look of the background content very strange? Like its just a wallpaper backdrop?
I hope it's good.

It has a very good director so I have high hopes.

Good Director, high budget, Blizz's CGI team is on this, and it's Warcraft.
They're trying their hardest but I just can't take the aesthetic seriously. The Orcs just look goofy and all the weapons and armour look too cartoony.
I was so excited, I wanted a warcraft movie using the same animation they use for their cinematics for WoW.
Not so much a live action one

Well, it wouldn't be taken as seriously if it were all animated. Live action, per the average moviegoer, sorta translates to legitimacy.
I think this might help WoW's sub problem quite a lot. It might revive the game [sp]temporarily[/sp]. Game of Thrones was very popular and this isn't far off. Some of the Warcraft lore is really interesting. The Warlords of Draenor back story made me buy back into the game.

I feel like a lot of Game of Thrones fans will be mad at me for comparing the two, especially before the movies even been released

I really liked the lords of war videos they did, but it feels like the game was written by totally different people.
Saw gul'dan, this gon be good

Well that's how this movie is going to work.
The Orcs are CG, the Humans are live action. Makes sense to me.
[editline]1st September 2015[/editline]
Besides, at the end of the day it does make sense to have the humans be live action since this is a movie, and it would be easier on the budget to not make the humans CG.

I definitely agree with this. People argue a bit that one of the reasons why WoW did so well in the first place was because the game came out right after they released the last LOTR movies, meaning people were high on fantasy worlds and looking for the next big thing.
I'm assuming this movie is probly going off the story of the Warcraft RTS games because the guy walking through the mountains looked a bit like Medivh and Warcraft 3 was technically the first game (not counting the books) to have an actual story. If this is true, then it probably means they might be planning for sequels. There hasn't been a dominating fantasy series in the movie industry as of late. If you count that in with GoT bringing people back into the fantasy genre, this could actually work wonders for the Warcraft IP.
[sp]Not sure about the game however cough cough[/sp]
The movie is it's own separate continuity in a way.
The game and movie both are based off the original RTS games, but in the movie Dalaran is already a floating city -which doesn't happen until Warcraft 3: Reign of Chaos- according to some concept art and the Doomhammer already has the Frostwolf symbol on it in a screenshot of Orgrim who was a Blackrock orc. The first war was between the humans and orcs only as well iirc.
But it wouldn't surprise me if Blizzard went and retconned some shit just to hammer in the movie somewhere.
It has a very good director so I have high hopes.
Well they didn't go anywhere near Uwe Boll, unlike some (too many) developers, so it can't be that bad.

its warcraft....thats kinda the point....Blizzard are known for chunky weps and chunky looking armor.
Last I checked the movie is going to be based on Warcraft I where the Orcs of Durotar, led by Gul'Dan, invade Azeroth for the first time.
I personally hope this move really makes a huge impact like LoTR did.
There is no fucking way.
Believe it or not LotR was fairly mainstream even before the movies and read by a lot of folks, but Warcraft is generally shoehorned into the category of "nerd shit" by the general public. I seriously doubt that they would respect it in the same way they respected the literary LotR movies, regardless of its quality.
It is a movie made for the nerds. That's why it was stuck in development hell for so long; there wasn't enough mass-market appeal to really keep the ball rolling.

I would say you completely missed the mark. GoT is, once again, a literary franchise, and having a book series to back you up lends your IP a lot of credence. GoT is also very political and character oriented, while Warcraft has always been more stereotypical "event driven" fantasy where it is more about the characters reacting to the world around them than acting on the world.
That and GoT is light fantasy at best. The most outlandish things it has are zombies and dragons and they don't even get a lot of attention in the show or the books.
the Orcs of Durotar, led by Gul'Dan, invade Azeroth for the first time.
What
Durotar doesn't get founded until Frozen Throne and Blackhand is their leader. Gul'Dan is just manipulating stuff from the shadows.

Yeah but how many people actually knew the books existed before watching the show? Same thing with LotR. A lot of the people who loved the movies probably never read the books first.
its warcraft....thats kinda the point....Blizzard are known for chunky weps and chunky looking armor.
I know, and it works fine for the games but it doesn't translate well to live action and partial CGI, I can't see general audiences taking it seriously at all.

Sorry forgot about Blackhand, and that his name was Durotan :v:
One of them said "We should not upload it". :goodjob:
Maybe instead of a movie that look goofy they work on a Warcraft 4 RTS?

I am 100% sure a film crew, it's director and cast are fully prepared and qualified to work on and develop a new video game for you.
