Plain self-promotion, but since I have (sort of) been part of the community for a decent amount of time, I think I've earned the right. :v: So here's me - launching the first track in a series (hopefully) of ambient guitar sketches/jams/loops/whatevers in order to just somehow vent my post-pubescent angst! Nothing too peculiar has been written before hand, most of the structure/sound is being developed on the spot. Any quirks come as additional "live-experience" artistic value. Since I hold Facepunch's taste and evaluation skills in high regard, I humbly ask for constructive feedback, if there is any to be had. Just a bump so people will see it, Nice stuff.
Pretty cool, though I feel the initial part overpowered the rest a bit. What do you use for looping? I'd like to be able to just mess around making stuff with a loop pedal but my setup consists of my guitar, an audio interface and guitar rig so I don't have the equipment. Also I've always wondered, do you have to have perfect timing to use a loop pedal? Or do they somehow detect the tempo and adjust it a bit or something?

Thanks for confirming my suspicions. As for looping, I use a Ditto X2 looping pedal. Very basic for this sort of multiple-overdrub work, since you really are working on just a single track, and the undo/redo is available only for the last overdub. In general, loopers don't really detect the tempo and don't adjust the length to your loop. If you screw it up, you screw it up and the loop is out of rhythm. However, it's not that hard to get a decent grasp on it, any rhythmic movement such as bobbing your head or tapping your other foot will help tremendously. The struggle becomes real when you want to loop in a band setting. I really think my drummer wants to kill me sometimes. Honestly, your setup + looping pedal would work decently if you put the looper between the output of your interface and speakers/headphones. You want to loop the signal which is already processed by Guitar Rig, because if you feed the looper into Guitar Rig, you won't have the flexibility of switching effects for overdubs etc. That would be a kind of DIY approach, but I think that'd work.
The first loop did seem to overpower the rest, but other than that, I thought it was really nice. It has a very relaxing/soothing feel to it.
