Most voters expected Republicans to win control of the House of Representatives on Election Day, but nearly as many expect to be disappointed with how they perform by the time the 2012 elections roll around. A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds, in fact, that 59% of Likely U.S. Voters think it is at least somewhat likely that most voters will be disappointed with Republicans in Congress before the next national elections. That includes 38% who say it is Very Likely. Thirty-three percent (33%) say it’s unlikely most voters will feel that way about the new majority party in the House, but only five percent (5%) say it’s Not At All Likely. (To see survey question wording, click here.) (Want a free daily e-mail update? If it's in the news, it's in our polls). Rasmussen Reports updates are also available on Twitter or Facebook. The survey of 1,000 Likely U.S. Voters was conducted on November 1-2, 2010 by Rasmussen Reports. The margin of sampling error is +/- 3 percentage points with a 95% level of confidence. Field work for all Rasmussen Reports surveys is conducted by Pulse Opinion Research, LLC. See methodology. [/release]
Fact: The majority of Americans hate either party and always vote for what they think is the lesser of two evils during the given point in time. No one is ever fucking right, get over it.
I'm not sure what this implies. Any theories?
How the hell can a majority feel bad about who they put into office 2 days ago? Can't help but feel like they interviewed a left leaning area.
How the hell can a majority feel bad about who they put into office 2 days ago? Can't help but feel like they interviewed a left leaning area.
How does a random telephone (I assume) poll "interview a left-leaning area"? It has a 3% margin of error so it's fine.
I don't think voters expecting to be disappointed by a party; even the one they voted in is really all that crazy.
No.
How the hell can a majority feel bad about who they put into office 2 days ago? Can't help but feel like they interviewed a left leaning area.
No, just sounds like your stereotypical american public, decide on how good something is before you experience it.
Says the guy that thinks democrats ruined america...
But they did. Insurance companies can't deny based on pre-existing conditions anymore, that's just a hop a skip and a jump away from gulags
oh man i hate gulags
No.
God daaaamn... I hate it when Republican supporters just tear us apart with their logic, it's so unfair :(
I really dislike polls Who did they ask?
I really dislike polls Who did they ask?
Canadians.
Says the guy that thinks democrats ruined america...
They did, and so have Republicans. So what's your point?
Of course they will fucking disappoint they are the Republican party. Their existence is a disappointment.
I really dislike polls Who did they ask?
Or you just plain don't understand polling science. [editline]4th November 2010[/editline]
They did, and so have Republicans. So what's your point?
Isn't it hypocritical to be on one side then?
Or you just plain don't understand polling science.
Haha oh wow.
Elections are rarely decisions between two people who could potentially help the country. It's normally between whoever the people think will do the least amount of damage. It's sort of sad, really.
I really dislike polls Who did they ask?
random americans
Haha oh wow.
A well done poll doesn't ask one area, and it accounts for area bias, and for numbers. So by saying "Where did they ask" you're kind of showing you don't understand it. But go ahead and dumb me.
They did
I know man, I saw a gulag being built yesterday. It said "Daycare" but that's just a socialist ploy. [editline]4th November 2010[/editline]
I really dislike polls Who did they ask?
How can you dislike something you obviously know absolutely nothing about? I dislike Quantum Mechanics
Haha oh wow.
Polling is a legit science, as has been said it doesn't just ask one area, it asks randomly and takes into account the bias of the areas, etc etc
How can you dislike something you obviously know absolutely nothing about? I dislike Quantum Mechanics
I dislike economics. I think we could do without it.
Polling is a legit science, as has been said it doesn't just ask one area, it asks randomly and takes into account the bias of the areas, etc etc
I don't get why so many people here don't get this. Don't we explain how polling works every time the issue comes up? [editline]4th November 2010[/editline]
I dislike economics. I think we could do without it.
Scorpio He'll sting you with his dreams of power and wealth Beware of Scorpio
We literally do have to explain polling each and every time anything poll related comes up. it's always impossible for facepunch to get it.
They understand how many torches you need to stop creepers from spawning in Minecraft but they don't get basic polling techniques
Well Minecraft is fun, but well...let's face it, polling science ain't so much
