The best of the best - A (new) facepunch collaborative [Greatest Hits CD]

Hello stranger how are you I hope you are good because it would be a great shame if it wasn't ok with you, I had an idea yesterday ; what if we made a greatest hits of facepunch, where a select few (12? 16? 20? 24? every artist on facepunch?) will have their best songs* put on a cd, and then we put it up on bandcamp and/or spotify and other music services?
This is going to be a long project to go through with(I'm thinking a weeks voting process for each and every artist, to decide what their best song is) and then possibly another week just for the elimination process (IF we're going to use one, that is), and then off to masterign (I'm sure we have someone who is good at mastering here? :smile:).

*Best songs would be the choice of all the other musicians on facepunch, based upon the voted upon artists best four songs(that he/she thinks is best).

Now, I said this is going to be a long process, so there are a few thing you the artist is going to have to acknowledge and accept before we do this:

1) You're going to have to be neutral in your assessment of the songs, previous grudges or what have you is going to have to wait, we want the best music, not your best friends :smile:

2) You're going to have to carefully listen to a LOT of songs (I'm thinking at least one listen to every song posted throughout this project), and you're going to have to keep your ears alert the whole time.

3) You might also have to do a small commentary on the tracks you listen to, this one I'm not sure if completely necessary, although I think it would be great for everyone involved if whenever you listen to a track, you mention three (3) good things about it that you like, be it mixing, melody, compositon or whatever, and three (3) bad things about it, so that the artist can grow and evolve thanks to you.

4) (This is a big if) You might not make it to the album if we do elimination.

I think that covers it, first I think we should get a headcount ; who's in? I'm thinking we could start the voting process on the 10th of september, this should leave us enough time to gather all the cool dudes and girls around here :smile:

I guess that works too, either way I really think we should make another album!
