I've smoked cannabis around 3 times now, and I have never been able to get high. The first time I did it I was pretty sure I was doing it wrong, and I realized I was. Then my second time (only 2 hits I think) I did it correctly, but still didn't get high. Then last night, with a bong, I took around 4 full hits, held each in for like 5 seconds. Nothing. Everyone did the same amount, and they're all high. Am I immune to THC or something? This is really perplexing to me and my friends.

You smoked from a bong and didn't get high? Damn I feel bad for you.
Are you absolutely sure you inhale ALL the smoke? Well most of it at least.
I mean you gotta "milk" the bong first (Collecting the smoke in it), then lay off the shot and boom. Be blazed.
Damn I wanna buy a bong.

Yeah, I made sure it filled with as much smoke as possible before inhaling all of it, It's so god damn weird.
i didn't get high for the first few (like 2 or 3) times i tried, and then one day i just took a huge bonghit and i was so god damn high, and been able to get high ever since
keep trying
sometimes your brain doesn't know what to do with all those cannabinoids the first
few times
Being high is something your body has to learn. I'll find the article.
Another factor which affects the response is that persons unfamiliar with the marijuana state frequently must "learn" that they are perceiving experience in a different way. That is, someone makes them aware of changed perception by showing them objects, playing music, and calling their attention to the difference in sights and sounds. Then they become consciously aware of the perceptual changes. This initiation procedure has led sociologist H. S. Becker (Becker, I963; partially reproduced in Solomon, I966) to suggest that most of the effects of marijuana are learned, not spontaneous. He says (accurately, I am sure) that the user must learn to notice the effects, categorize them, and connect them to the total experience of using the drug. What is learned in most cases is not a new way of perceiving, but the awareness of a change in perception. Few persons observe what they are doing in the sense of observing their seeing, and it is not surprising that many should have to learn how to become aware of themselves experiencing by checking current perception against memory and expectations.
When your high, you perceive things differently. It's like nothing you've experience if you've never experienced it before. Which makes it hard for first-timers to actually get high on their first couple tries.
When you first smoke, your brain is like "WTF is this" and will do quite a lot to try and stop it from doing anything to you. The more you smoke, the more your brain is like "oh okay, this aint too bad really" and then its alll gooooood.

Yeah this, your brain fights the effects because it thinks you're getting sick but realizes it isn't

I know how you can solve that problem.
Stop smoking for a week, and smoke.
yeah i haven't been smoking much in the last three- four months and i just recently got some bud and smoked it through joints and i just got kinda high idk maybe it was just shit weed?
How are we supposed to know? :saddowns:
I toke every day and 2 bowls of homegrown in my spoon get me crazy high for 2 hours.
if you have stopped for a while it makes it better wont make you get less high, im pretty sure thats the case anyway seems to be that way with me atleast.

I'm exactly the same, I just don't build up a tolerance to it, it's great

Maybe you do have a tolerance, but you live a healthy lifestyle so it may seem like you don't. I think the science behind it is as more THC binds to fat cells in your body (which are tested in drug tests :downs:) it is harder for the THC to find more fat to bind to. As you stop smoking, the fat cells are removed from just everyday exercise and whatever replaces them, and the number of fat cells with THC bonded to them go down. However, if you are very healthy and active, the fat cells are always being burned for fuel, so the number of cells with THC on them are going down quicker, making it easier to get and, and giving the illusion that you have a low tolerance! I think.
