Devotees of the McDonald’s breakfast menu celebrated in March when it was announced that the fast food chain would extend breakfast beyond the standard 10.30am cut-off time.
The first US state to pilot the plan has chosen a conspicuous date on which to start: 4/20, the annual celebration of cannabis culture.
San Diego's all-day breakfast menu, which starts on Monday April 20, is limited to nine items and McCafé drinks. Customers can get egg McMuffin, sausage McMuffin with egg, sausage burrito, sausage McMuffin, hash brown and hotcakes, oatmeal and yoghurt all day. McGriddles, cakes and steak, egg and cheese bagels have been left off the menu.
Apparently McDonald’s has trouble making sausage and eggs at the same time as burgers and chicken. A McDonald’s employee told BurgerBusiness.com that McDonald’s cooks everything on the grill, rather than in the microwave, which means they don’t have enough space to cook all the breakfast items.
McDonald’s have already experimented with extending their breakfast menu. In 2012, they tested breakfast from midnight until 5am. This later became the McDonald’s after midnight menu.
No word yet from McDonald’s on whether the San Diego pilot has been deliberately launched to coincide with 4/20.

I usually don't eat at McDonald's but Egg McMuffin is delicious, I hope this becomes common practise around the world.
I hate McDonalds because as a kid everyone told me the Chicken McNuggets had calamari in them and I'm still wary :tinfoil:

Yeah it's real sensible to believe urban legends and hate chicken nuggets despite them not being the thing you hate.
Although seriously good shout, their chicken nuggets are fucking wank anyway.
i work at mcdonalds and the idea of having to make breakfast and reg menu stuff at the same time scares me. I'm on grill and we only have 3 flat top grills for regular meat and 1 for chicken, and our heating cabinets can only hold so much shit
god damn I fuckin HATE mcdonalds breakfast
I want to eat a cheeseburger even if its 9 am I dont give a FUCK

Shut the fuck up and make me an Egg McMuffin!
Seriously though, I had an internship at McDonald's once and you guys are heroes in my eyes. Keep up the awesome work.

this, holy shit
few years ago when we were going out every friday, walking to mcdonalds in the early hours and eating tons of burgers would be the best, but no we get shitty egg sandwiches instead
Only thing I like about McDonald's is their breakfasts. Lets hope this comes over to England.
I wouldn't mind swapping out the chips for a hashbrown.
McGriddles, cakes and steak, egg and cheese bagels have been left off the menu.
Suddenly I've stopped giving a shit.
wtf where the mcgriddles at tho
Boo. Mcgriddles are the only reason McDonalds breakfast is worth it.
[editline]20th April 2015[/editline]
actually i lied the hashbrowns are to die for too
Wait, does US McD not serve croissants as a breakfast option?

YES
I AM READY
MCDONALDS BREAKFAST IS THE BEST
If they only did this sooner, the Falling Down movie could have turned out differently.
We spent $1,300 on a new egg griddle and we can't afford more than 5 trash bags a day. I don't get it.
If your McDonalds offer the create your tastes btw, jalapeno mcdoubles with sausage patties rather than beef patties and pepper jack cheese rather than white cheddar is probably the best thing ever. It's smokey and has the perfect amount of heat.
literally all I want are 2am hashbrowns
southern style chicken biscuit is very yes.
How do you eat this in the morning and stay alive http://www.mcdonalds.com/content/us/en/food/full_menu/breakfast.html
This reminds me of that school lunch thread a while back where the general consensus was that giving kids pizza for standard school lunch is an amazing thing
Facepunchers have shit diets.
It's weird they don't serve croissants in the US. They are fucking delicious
Eh, I prefer Jack in the Box for my all-day breakfast needs anyway. Those grilled breakfast sandwiches are dangerously good. Like, literally dangerous to my health.
make all day dinner too i want to go to mcds at 5 am and eat with the sunrise
Frigging awesome. I used to love going to McDonald's for breakfast and a coffee in the morning, but my new work schedule means I can never get there before 11:00.

pretty sure this would only take affect in certain stores. smaller stores like the little shithole i used to work in couldn't do it.

I would buy. Get fries and croissants, then get a chocolate milkshake.
