The creepy clown craze spooking the nation reached a fevered pitch last month with at least a dozen people arrested for taking part in the menacing stunt or for making false reports, according to police. Sightings and hoaxes have spread to more than a dozen states, including New York, Maryland and Pennsylvania in September and have led to elementary, middle schools and high schools being shut down in Ohio and added police patrols in Alabama, Florida and Georgia. If this isn't part of a big marketing ploy then someone ought to make a clown horror movie just to cash in on it.

This is marketing for a Killer Klowns From Outer Space remake isn't it? Or...it's an actual space clown invasion!
So this is what happened to all those kids who got an F in clown college
Someone has already been murdered because of it, if it was I'm fairly certain that they probably called it off by now.
But then they'd also claim partial responsibility
This just started happening up here in Cape Breton too, was reading that they actually approached a car and started banging on it, must have been terrifying.
Ugh, we already had a creeper lurking in the woods at the Halloween event at my work last year that we were on alert for. This year is going to be a shitshow.

I pass by the woods every night on Wednesdays. This is gonna suck. Time to bring out that switchblade that I have in my room somewhere and keeping my phone charged.
this is surreal
exterminate all clowns
Every time they stab someone they honk. Beware.
What the fuck, america?
I'm kind of afraid to find out what's going to happen on or near Halloween.

But when she rounded the corner, she says as many as five other masked characters were in the middle of the road waiting for her.
Literally what the fuck is going on? Can some tough cops just bring in a dozen or so from around the country and find out what's going on? Because I'm getting tired of the clown hysteria.
exterminate all clowns
Don't frown- gas a clown.
What's next? A guy in a scarecrow costume skinning a man alive?
You know how in every second topic here someone says something along the lines of "The world is turning into a joke?" The clowns sense it. And are growing restless.

2016 continues to be a fever dream turned into reality.

Because I'm getting tired of the clown hysteria.
It started with a few clowns making the news. The absurdity of it and the general public reaction of "Jesus Christ how horrifying" makes it notable. The fact that it's also a very simple costume makes it easy for people to join in. This creates a feedback loop of more news, more copycat clowns. Culminating in a Clowngeist.
But you'd think it'd be common sense that wearing masks and weird outfits or makeup to act weird and creepy out in public at night isn't the best idea.
The point of it is that it is scary, disturbing, and comical.
#NotAllClowns
#ClownLivesMatter
What creeps me out about this is that these clowns seem to show up without there being any record on the internet whatsoever. Nobody knows what's going on. In current society I'd expect something like this to be masterminded by some board on 4chan, or some kind of subreddit, but instead it seems to be happening completely spontaneously, and not a single person seems to be able to speak certain of the matter. And whether it's a marketing stunt gone wrong or whatever, the fact of the matter is that there are confirmed reports of psychos in clown costumes attacking or even killing people at random, which is already scary enough itself.
#NotAllClowns
Stop clownsplaining at me!
At least the mimes are keeping quiet.
