I bet it's just going to be related to steam friends and shit, not a new gamemode.
Surprises? :q:
what about a second announcer
a dude announcer filling your head with lies
Uh oh. I wonder what it all means. I've combed over the other files and there aren't any new items or text, so I wonder what you get for "betraying your friends".
Maybe its some kind of spy gamemode, 1 guy is spy and others need to find him.
This is my guess:
Gamemode, where 2 players are always "friends". They are to protect each other. Whenever the other one dies, their "friendship" ends and they become mercenaries. Mercenaries are rest of the players, they are supposed to hunt down the friends. Whoever kills one of the friends becomes a new friend with someone.
Or something.
Maybe christmas update? isnt it about CARING and FRIENDSHIP`?
The two posts above me got a point.
sounds cool i want to go in and play now. if i hear one ill shit bricks even though ill be expecting it.
Maybe the announcer goes rogue and then you all have to work as a team to kill her or something.
I think the announcer is just getting lonely and hates us having friends.
Bout time we got a real new gamemode.
HOW COULD YOU BETRAY MEeeeeeeeeeeeeeehhhhhhhhh.................
Plotline?
[sp]Nahhh......[/sp]
Reminds me of The Ship, always thought it'd be neat to play TF2 like that with the spy.
Guys, it isn't a new game mode. Robin said they're already in the game and he's confirming reports of people having heard them.

... And? Of course they're already in the game, that much is known and stated. However, there IS more to this than simply adding in new sayings for absolutely no reason. Think about it.

Well if they are already tied to an in-game event, then they don't have anything to do with a future game mode. This is already something you can do within all(?) game modes. There's a reason, and it's already there and hidden.

Maybe that sounds play when you kill one of your steam friends. But still why the Friendship ends in 30 seconds? That must be a gamemode...
I imagine they have to do with playing a game while you have someone on your friends list on the other team.

Its random.
I'm thinking its probably a double agent style gamemode.
The big clue to me is "Its Me or HIM, and I pay your salaries. Make your Choice."
Probably, it'll be something more cleverly designed. Probably a CTF style, but with certain players as double agents, who get points for working against their teams and with the enemies, such as delivering your Intel to them, killing your Intel carrier.
Sounds like a FFA scenario, but you can create false alliances, probably something relating to distance between two players IE: if you are within 10 feet of another player and do not attack them it considers it a friendship. Think about what you do at Lazertag when it is FFA, and you tell your friends to "team" up against everyone else.

That would be awesome
I bet it has something to do with medic-heavy combos. Isn't it obvious?
Hiding Christmas presents?
Medics healing enemy spies a bunch of times?
Its probably for when you're playing with a friend on the opposing team.
Too bad it doesn't apply to us without friends. :eng99:
