Ok, now I'm looking forward to this seems like you can do it your way.
I've only played a little of the others but that looks like a lot of fun.
What's with all these clips of 47 just straight up murdering the shit out of loads of unimportant people? Isn't he supposed to not do that?
We've put the sophisticated art of assassination at your fingertips.
Sophisticated art of assassination = Punch man in face, steal his gun and shoot other guy outside in daylight where everyone nearby can hear. [editline]2nd May 2012[/editline] I haven't been following the news about this game lately though so I dunno
I think it's just showing the capabilities of 47. I'm pretty sure you can play stealthy.
I guess it wouldn't be too exciting trailer if it was only stealth, but it still had too much of shooting everyone in front of everyone.
Why does everyone doubt that there is stealth? Hitman has always had it and its stealth game, they just seem to give you a wider scope to do what you want. I loved grabbing a bunch of guns and rampaging through the mission, and I loved the stealth, and they are just adding more to both by the looks.
Holy shit did he kill someone with a cheese grater?
I'm trying to be optimistic, but I'm having really low expectations that this will play like the previous games.

Then I would go through it again trying to kill everyone in the map. I'm still a little skeptical, but I'm sure they know what they're doing.
Honestly, in Blood Money, sometimes I would love to just shoot everyone down. Other times I like to take my time and plan moves accordingly. If what they're saying in the video where you can do both options, I won't think that it plays different from the rest of the Hitman series. It's just trying to portray 47 doing both, stealth, and killing.
Looks good, the only thing that looks shitty is the fact that he is bursting through that place with a sub machine gun, this is hitman...
You probably cant gun down everyone in certain missions. Say you are at some party, pretty sure gunning everyone down wouldnt be an option then.
Looks good, the only thing that looks shitty is the fact that he is bursting through that place with a sub machine gun, this is hitman...
Did the point of this video somehow skip straight past you? The video is explaining you can go in quiet, take out only the people who you absolutely need to for disguises and goals. Or you can just rambo the shit out of the entire place. So what they included a few clips of him blowing the fuck out of everything in the room? That's a totally valid playstyle, and the game encourages you to try different playstyles out. The video also showed footage of him waiting for the right moment to take some dude to the side and kill him right behind the guy he was just talking to without raising suspicion.
Are the sedatives in this game?

I think it's more of a good thing, they are allowing you to play the game the way you want to. Meaning the devs aren't trying forcing you to play the game ~the way it was meant to be played~

On hard difficulty, you could only kill X people or you get a Game Over. Everyone that doesn't want that challenge can still go on a murder spree on normal difficulty.
This hideous lens flare/bloom better not be in the game.

He's a fucking hitman and if he has to kill a bunch of civilians he will.

Assault rifles? "Detective Vision" from Batman games? Exploding barrels? Are you trying to pull fucking Conviction on us with this game? I'm not a fan of his new face either.
No, I want killing the shit out of everyone an option in the game, I don't want it to be a viable option, both because it makes you want to play stealthily more, and because of the added challenge when you want to kill the shit out of everyone.
Err, then just set self imposed "if I kill x civilians, I fail" rules, like you would have in Blood Money. The hardest difficulty on BM still let you blaze through killing everyone, it was just moderately irritating.
Assault rifles? "Detective Vision" from Batman games? Exploding barrels? Are you trying to pull fucking Conviction on us with this game?
Personally, I think stealth games ought to take a few cues from the Batman games. Easily the most fun I've had with a stealth game.
Batman games are great, but they're not just stealth and Absolution tries to copy completely fucking wrong mechanics from it.
Didn't even need to read the thread to know people would complain about too much action. They're purposely advertising it as that to bring in the generic shooter crowd. And "Detective Vision" was redundant in Batman and it will be redundant in Absolution. It a feature made specifically for people with zero short-term memory.
As long as you can play the game like the old Hitman games thats fine by me the only thing i'm not fine with is how they trashed the story build up for the previous games regarding Diana, that was not cool and just downright disrespectful of a generally supportive fanbase. also i'm slightly warming to the instincts vision but the problem i have with it is its too upfront, if they had made it more subtle instead of just using Eagle Vision from AC then i'd have been fine with it.
His face has been different every game, you're just nit picking at something that's not even a problem now.
Well, I admit, I am just nit-picking with the face thing. Though it does look different from Blood Money, which I consider to be the best Hitman game.
And "Detective Vision" was redundant in Batman and it will be redundant in Absolution. Having the old 47 face would make most of us flip our shit.

Though from what they've shown so far the missions look more linear and less like in blood money or whatever
