Romania recently approved and published the documents that Romanian men aged 20 to 35 will have to fill out and hand over to military recruitment commissions in case of a war. The documents were recently published in the Official Gazette. In case of a war or a state of siege, military service re-becomes mandatory for all Romanian men 20 to 35. Romania currently has 2.1 million men aged 20 to 35, according to the most recent census data.
Source The Ministry of Defense also increased the spending to 1.5% of GDP and it will be gradually increased to 2%. And with the money the Minister already ordered the munitions and weapon factories to start mass-producing the new NATO rifles that were designed by the army, and the helicopter fleet is being sent into depos to be refurbished and modernized. And 12 F-16's that were bought from the Portuguese will arrive next year. Pretty silly to be fair.
Pretty silly to be fair.
If I lived in a post soviet state right now, I probably would be seeing this as a more logical thing.
[t]https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/19945172/1395689694339.jpg[/t] We all know why
It's down that far in Ukraine? Holy shit, I thought it was just Crimea and the eastern border cities.
It's down that far in Ukraine? Holy shit, I thought it was just Crimea and the eastern border cities.
It was some Russian politician's proposition to Poland,Hungary and Romania to share Ukraine's territories.
I dunno what all this is building up to, but I don't like the looks of it. If nothing else, though, if there is a "War in the East" heating up, Romania's gonna be on the side of NATO. Hopefully there won't be a war, but even if there is let's hope that it's just against Russia and not some sort of Eastern Coalition of Russia and China.
It's down that far in Ukraine? Holy shit, I thought it was just Crimea and the eastern border cities.
Nah, that's just how some Russians WANT it to be.
It's down that far in Ukraine? Holy shit, I thought it was just Crimea and the eastern border cities.
You're thinking what the EU/US acknowledge, this is a map of what everyone else sees. [editline]2nd May 2014[/editline]
. Hopefully there won't be a war, but even if there is let's hope that it's just against Russia and not some sort of Eastern Coalition of Russia and China.
China won't enter anything directly at fear of their economy, and civilian unrest. If anything they are an "ally" for supplies.
It's down that far in Ukraine? Holy shit, I thought it was just Crimea and the eastern border cities.
my friend in odessa can hear shooting and has seen bodies so..

Hopefully there won't be a war, but even if there is let's hope that it's just against Russia and not some sort of Eastern Coalition of Russia and China.
My opinion is that both Russia and China are doing these things now for the same reason, but that doesn't necessarily mean they talked about it with each other or coordinated anything. I think the US is obviously war weary in political terms. I think the entire world can see that. Outside of an attack on the US or NATO ally, the US is not going to be fighting any countries any time soon. So both Russia and China, the only two countries with the forces necessary and the motivation, are taking advantage of that. Russia with Ukraine and China with those islands and territory it wants. As long as China doesn't attack Japan or South Korea they know we won't do anything. Russia knows we won't fight them over Ukraine. The risky part is assuming Russia or China won't be tempted to try to grab more and trigger a war that way. Appeasement never works, giving them what they want won't satisfy them and cause them to stop there. It'll encourage their aggression.
I have a really hard time believing russia will stop at the ukraine
I have a really hard time believing russia will stop at the ukraine
russia is literally going to invade america, call of duty told me so.
[t]https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/19945172/1395689694339.jpg[/t] We all know why
Pardon for asking but I don't really know what you mean. Mind telling :)?
russia is literally going to invade america, call of duty told me so.
Okay you can stop taking everything to the extremes. You just look like an idiot.
russia is literally going to invade america, call of duty told me so.
They're clearly taking the scenic route.
Pardon for asking but I don't really know what you mean. Mind telling :)?
Russia is budding up against Romainia, we've seen how completely ineffective NATO/US has been to this invasion. There is nothing to stop Russia from re-assimilating post soviet states.
Okay you can stop taking everything to the extremes. You just look like an idiot.
I look like an idiot because I'm pointing out you make no sense? You're just spewing a bunch of paranoid American militaristic crap. What basis do you have to say that on? None? Because you're being paranoid? "commies gonna invade, billy get the 12 gauge"
I look like an idiot because I'm pointing out you make no sense? You're just spewing a bunch of paranoid American militaristic crap. "commies gonna invade, billy get the 12 gauge"
Where did that even come from, I never said anything about Russia going into America. I just think it's likely they will push into other post soviet states.
Where did that even come from, I never said anything about Russia going into America. I just think it's likely they will push into other post soviet states.
Why? Why would you say that? What basis do you have?
Russia is budding up against Romainia, we've seen how completely ineffective NATO/US has been to this invasion. There is nothing to stop Russia from re-assimilating post soviet states.
Ukraine isn't a part of NATO, though, and why should it be the US' job to protect Ukraine? Like, I don't disagree with the fact that we need to tighten up on Russia, but it really isn't the business of the United States as such. Europe, sure.
Pardon for asking but I don't really know what you mean. Mind telling :)?

It was some Russian politician's proposition to Poland,Hungary and Romania to share Ukraine's territories.
That's what the image means, he was just joking.
Pretty fucking paranoid?
shieeeeet
Russia is budding up against Romainia, we've seen how completely ineffective NATO/US has been to this invasion. There is nothing to stop Russia from re-assimilating post soviet states.
Ineffective? What did you want them to do? Send troops to a non-NATO member? USA and Canada have deployed 6 jets each to Romania, several warships, a few hundred troops, the US missile defense system will come online end 2014/2015. And Romania has even asked for some Patriot systems to be deployed here, and the USA seems to agree. It's not even worth mentioning the deployments in the Baltics and Poland. What more do you want?
Ineffective? What did you want them to do? Send troops to a non-NATO member?
Wasn't Ukraine fairly well vested into the onboarding process of becoming a Nato member? That doesn't amount for anything? I can see the US not entering, which is understandable to an extent even though they are our ally as of 1991. I don't think we should win invasions for everyone but I do think we could help a bit more.
Wasn't Ukraine fairly well vested into the onboarding process of becoming a Nato member?
Maybe before Yanukovich became president, but since he was president since 2010 you can kiss that process goodbye.
The only thing I've been wondering this entire time is how the fuck are the Russians swinging all of this financially?
its ok nothing to fear the romanians can send all the gypsies to fight against the russians using their special gypsy magic and 3-legged mutant marines
