I haven't made a thread about anything in awhile and I just thought about how much my town sucks so I thought I'd make a thread about it. So anyway to start it all off I live in Vancouver, Washington and well... It sucks. There's never anything new to do. I can't help but think about going somewhere else. A big city ya know? I've always had this dream of leaving this place to go somewhere with sky scrapers and all that. To a big city... I find myself thinking about that a lot... I dunno. Theres just nothing here. I just feel like I need to get away and find something but I don't know what that "something" is. I was just looking through a thread with all these pictures of where people live and one picture that caught my eye was of a really cool looking bridge and a city that just looked so... alive. I think it was of Sydney, Australia. There's just nothing to do here... It's actually kind of depressing when I really think about it. There's just so much more out there and I feel like I'll never get to see any of it. Maybe when I get a little older I'll finally be able to get out there but until then I guess I'm stuck here... So Facepunch, I was just wondering does anyone else feel this way because of the place you live? Hearts if you live in Washington. :buddy: (I really don't know if this belongs in fast threads or not so my bad if this is the wrong section.)
Hiya' man. I'm up in Bellevue Washington, and if you really wanna experience that kinda life, hit up Seattle or Bellevue -once- in awhile, because I know the drive from Vancouver to anywhere like Seattle is really long, and it's a poor suggestion of me to make since it's not very logical, but...It is very wonderful in Seattle and Bellevue. I'm up near Eastgate and Issaquah if that matters . Downtown Bellevue especially has everything you dream of, very wonderful and rich urban lifestyle and experience for sure. Lot of spoiled, rotten brats in Downtown Bellevue though, that's for sure. I see like ten year old kids wearing designer shoes and jackets, it's ridiculous. Still, that's what makes downtown bellevue nice. Wanna go big, ya gotta go big! I do hear ya' though. Our weather is terrible 7 months of the year, and this years summer sucked ass. It was good, but way, way too short.

Sorry for double post. Hey man if you ever wanna talk or something, I'm hear for ya'. Specially people who understand how boring WA state can be, even if you do look for that right stuff. I know Vancouver has plenty of clubs, bars, stuff like that, but it's definitely not a good way to -experience- more actual meaningful things. Yep, Seattle sure is expensive, I hear ya'. Bellevue downtown is as well, especially when you move there and feel liek you have to adjust yourself in a forced manner to fit into that urban lifestyle.
....Living in a lonely world...She took the midnight train going anywhere....
Beat me to the joke but I actually came here to say that this thread is inaccessible in Chrome because the address is changed from this: http://www.facepunch.com/threads/1024943-Living-in-a-small-town-city. to this: http://www.facepunch.com/threads/1024943-Living-in-a-small-town/city. You go to the latter upon clicking the thread, which I found kinda funny. Also, I live in a sort of miniature bustling city, so though there's still pretty much nothing to do during the day, at night is a different story.

I live in a rural town in the smallest county of Indiana, the population being about 2,000. It's okay I guess, other than the fact that everyone is an inbred, it's pretty quiet and peaceful. Our main points of interest are the fact we're the largest town in the county, have the only movie theater, and a Subway.
Ha Ha! I live in a Real center of the modern world. The town that is so large and exiting that it should be the capital of the World! Helgö, Ekerö municipality, Uppland. Population: Approximately 140. Oh wait. I might have been ironic.
Latter?...
Yes, latter, as in the second one out of the two.
I live in a town with a population of 200, but live 15 minutes away from a town of 2000, which is 15 minutes away from a town of 100,000. So not everyone is inbred.
Population of my city is ~6000. On the website for the city they show in the banner this picture of a place that looks somewhat nice. I have no idea where the fuck that place is supposed to be, nothing around here looks that nice. I think they went somewhere else and took the picture. Also we have no police force. If you have a problem they gotta call a county out here. I smoke dope on my front porch and play bluegrass with my neighbors. Life is good.

only 140,000 people live in my town
Shut up OP, you do not live in a small town. I grew up in a rural part of Alabama in a city of 5K.
Also we have no police force.
Shit son, you're lucky. Even my shitty little town has one.

I used to live in Blaine, you fuckers have no excuse for complaining about your "small town."
Population in my city goes up in the millions.
I live in NYC. I don't really think you guys are missing out on much. Yeah New York has its ups and downs but the cost of living here is outrageous. You literally live paycheck by paycheck. Paying 2.25 for each trip on public transportation sucks, and that fare is only going to go higher. And living in a city that has 8 fucking million people can get pretty annoying. Still, I wouldn't want to live anywhere else in the country.
Siuro, Finland here. VERY small town but I fucking love it here. Walking to the store is a good way to waste time.
My town only has 77640 approx pop. However I live minutes away from Liverpool City Centre, so I got plenty to do, sucks to be you bro.

About 2500 people here, smaller than most towns posted here, but not the smallest. [editline]10th November 2010[/editline]
Also we have no police force. Life is good.
We have our own Police, about a dozen Officers, only a few of those are full time though, and usually about one at a time is on duty.
Only 600,000 people live in my town and it's a capital city.
Fire Department and Paramedics are volunteer too, so no worries about your house being burned down over a $70 debt. [editline]10th November 2010[/editline] Damnit Sobo.
I feel you OP. I live in a shitty, horribly small Estonian town that is worthy of the "industrial village" title. I've been dreaming of moving to Tallinn ever since I started noticing that I walk the same path every day, see the same fucking people every day and worst of all, there's nothing to fucking do at ALL, no Zoo, no Cinema, no Theater, NOTHING. God how I hate living in this shithole.
I live on an island that's 12.8 square kilometers and only has 11,000 people on it, you tell me.
This thread breaks facepunch apparently. When I press the link to this thread the last slash gives me an 404, but when I removed the "Living-in-a-small-town/city" out of the url, it worked. Good work Compwhizii!!!
The population of the city I live in is around 64 000.
