"you can wait just hold on let me finish" Suddenly everyone starts clapping and basically interrupting him.
It was staged..How anyone can still be fooled by this guy is almost laughable. I call him Bush jr. Too bad there's so much at stake..China's waiting patiently..And this prick is more concerned with fundraising than finding a way to get jobs back here..Not Mc.Donalds or walnart eithier..REAL FUCKING JOBS!!!!•
[editline]27th November 2013[/editline] :v:
Obama handled that very, very well.
I honestly have no idea about how good or bad of a politician Obama is but damn that was smooth. Props.
Obama has so much charisma.
That was incredible.
Lovely but I got frustrated because he was interrupted like eight times, including by the whole crowd
When he started like "When I come here to this community as the president of the United States" I thought he was gonna upbraid him or something. The guy must've been shitting his pants.
Lovely but I got frustrated because he was interrupted like eight times, including by the whole crowd
Because democracy means inciting crowds and mob mentality and chanting. Also, being louder than the other guy and not giving them a chance to speak means you're right. Besides, it's not the president's role to make laws anyway. He can pass or reject laws, but even if he rejects it Congress is able to override that decision if they agree to unanimously pass it (I think it's at least two thirds of Congress needed to override a veto, correct me if I'm wrong).

Somewhere between five and ten percent of all veto's have been overriden though, and most of those are from Roosevelt and his time and before. Nowadays the bureaucracy is just so intense it's almost impossible to override a veto.
This video expresses my biggest pet peeve of people's misunderstanding towards presidential power. Also, that heckler sounded like he didn't have a fucking clue what was going on
Because democracy means inciting crowds and mob mentality and chanting. Also, being louder than the other guy and not giving them a chance to speak means you're right.
That was actually one of the deciding factors in the "birthplace" of democracy, Ancient Athens.
Hecklers do nothing but make this man look better.
I did always find it weird how much emphasis on the president there is in the United States. We got "TV battles" between candidates here in Germany as well, but generally people talk a lot more about the parties, probably because there's a bit more variety here and not just two huge stalemating mammoths (tho I guess that's kinda true for the current coalition). I get that it's harder to connect to a faceless crowd of congress than a singular "boss" who has a face and name, but he's not a king. Just a representative with a really strong veto that's trying to solve disputes with compromises working in the favor of his personally advertised agenda - all while trying to not actually use the veto 'cause that slows things down even more. If he had that much concentrated power, democracy would kinda miss its point.
Someone should of mentioned bengazi, the whole crowd would of went apeshit.
I think that everybody thinks that being the president of the USA is like being the driver of the schoolbus.
dnt worry ur still brobama 4 me
Honestly it seems like the President ends up as the scapegoat for the entire government often enough. When Katrina happened, people often blamed Bush (and no-one else) for not reacting fast enough. Though there's probably lots of factors I'm forgetting from back then.

With amazing charisma.

I like how quickly Obama realizes the guy has no idea what he's talking about and he just lets him go on making a fool of himself.
i think it's more that he just had a speech prepared and got it out as fast as he could
The hesitations in said speech were awkwardly hilarious, though.

I bet the whole "new World" skedaddle was just to get rid of the less "present" people in europe and tuck them out of sight.
diazmilton22 hours ago I'm wondering if this is FAKE. In other instances that the president has been heckler, he immediately removes the heckler. Thi time, he said its OK. It is fake like the fainting lady at the Obamacare press conference.•
when i come here as president of the united states i expect you to sit down and listen motherfucker

Yeah sure. Can't go outside of the law when it's about social security. But if were building an enourmous global international spy agency, which spies on, and collects data about pretty much everyone on Earth... pretty much violating every single other countries sovereign rights... then the laws and 'the right way' don't matter too much. I realize this PRISM ball got rolling before Obama was president, but still. It's bullshit.
