She probably uses the little channel between her middle ear and the back of her throat.
IIRC there are tubes on the inside of your throat that lead to your ears which purpose is to hear your own voice clearer or something like that, kinda like what suddenimpact said
I'm very curious as to how she discovered she could even do this.
Doesn't that require you to have busted your eardrums up so fluid can flow through?

The tube everybody is talking about is the Auditory Tube also called Eustachian tube... There is the ear drum before that which closes this inner space there which connects to the tube.

Yes, I've been at hospital, doctors etc. to have my ears cleaned and such, and they always say "INSTANTLY tell me if you taste the liquid in your mouth" in kind of you're-going-to-die -tone. :v:
Also I have some stuff at home too which I use to clean my ear canals and nothing goes through the eardrum.
