[hd]https://youtu.be/IHwdtyHkLa8[/hd] They have parts one through six up on their youtube channel (part 4 was taken down yesterday and is up on Vimeo). I'm pretty damn amazed at the quality of this thing for something that wasn't kickstarted and Rhino Stew isn't asking for donations either.
holy fuck that was unexpected
average con experience really
holy fuck that was unexpected
Yeah this was surprisingly high-quality. I thought it'd be a meme. Also, HD 4:3, I love it.
this turned out to be pretty good
This went from 1 to 10 emotionally real fast and I was not expecting to feel sad today. I enjoyed it.
You know it's pretty good when you have to pause in order to watch certain parts but still feel the need to watch said parts.
I was worried that this video would be more like this:
Part 4 is on Vimeo only for s̶o̶m̶e̶ a very obvious reason in case you missed it https://vimeo.com/218960220 [sp]toki is best girl[/sp]
I expected something extremely bad. [sp]The fifth episode upset me. :( [/sp]
I expected something extremely bad. [sp]The fifth episode upset me. :( [/sp]
They all have a perfect mix of funny, sad, and awkward. I absolutely love it, hope they make more
I thought the pink-haired girl's similarity to Asuka was gonna be the only Evangelion parallel until the incompetent shy girl even had her own "I'm so fucked up" sexual moment. Now I'm just curious if the emotionally reserved guy from the start is gonna turn the world into tang. Also while the love-subplots are great at amplifying the awkwardness (or in pink-haired girl's case, was a good foil to what came right before and after), it kinda gets predictable when every character gets one. But overall I think this series is achieving what it's set out to do.
I'm not sure what the point of it all is quite yet but I'm interested to see where it goes.
So if i get it right these 4 guys and girls represent a stereotypical (game/anime) convention goer? Or at least thats how the site describes it:
A painfully relatable webseries desu
Which for me begs the question, does any of you relate to one of the characters a bit?
Wow I thought this was just gonna be like "haha weebs" but then the ending to part 1. :(
Wow I thought this was just gonna be like "haha weebs" but then the ending to part 1. :(
It gets worse
HOLY FUCK LOL that was a great ending also I am def Randy this is fantastic edit: SHIT WAIT WATCHED THE NEXT EPISODES. I AM NOT RANDY. ABORT ABORT UPDATE 2: HOLY SHIT TOKI WOAH WOAH WOAH
Fucking Randy. "Satoshi is my nigga." lol
[sp]"What part of severe brain trauma is daijoubu"[/sp]
I love this, can't wait for part 6. The characters, despite their extreme personalities that fit a specific nerd stereotype, are really relatable.
It's definitely inspired by Eva, references aside the shot composition is pretty similiar to Anno's work (not to mention that this gives me the same empty feeling i got when watching Eva).
I think it is a shame that more people don't know about this. The cinematography and the actors are great.
I think it is a shame that more people don't know about this. The cinematography and the actors are great.
Give it time, it'll take off.
Which for me begs the question, does any of you relate to one of the characters a bit?
The part where they [sp]hit the semi and died[/sp] is pretty relatable.
this is hard to watch
Not gonna lie, this was cringy and hard to watch but I think that was kinda the point so w/e.
This was surprisingly great, had a good mix of being really depressing, funny, sad, cringy etc, the cinematography is great too.
So if i get it right these 4 guys and girls represent a stereotypical (game/anime) convention goer? Or at least thats how the site describes it: Which for me begs the question, does any of you relate to one of the characters a bit?
The characters are obviously hyper exaggerated but I can relate to the show in having known people or known of situations with people that are at least like each of the characters in some ways. I have never been to an anime convention but I have been to 15-20 different gaming conventions of different sizes over the years. Rita is probably the last relatable because her character [sp]has some kind of mental illness and is on anti-psychotics[/sp], but I have definitely met people who are similar to the other 4 characters (Without the using Japanese words constantly)
I'm really surprised that the acting was like super terrible.
I kinda got scared when Toki [sp]got sent to the back of the that fast food joint, i was starting to fear she would get raped or some fucked up shit like that which made her very shy.[/sp] :frown:
All of these people remind me of the weaboos who I went to high school with, though that's probably the point. Also me back in 2012 nearly pissed himself when nightcore was mentioned.
The credits scene in episode four had me in stitches, holy shit. This is absolutely phenomenal.
