The State Department is reopening an internal investigation of possible mishandling of classified information by Hillary Clinton and top aides, officials told The Associated Press on Thursday. Although the former secretary of state's closest confidants have left the agency, they could still face punishment. The most serious is the loss of security clearances, which could complicate her aides' hopes of securing top positions on her national security team if she becomes president.
Source For those that watched FBI Director Comey's congressional testimony today, he clarified that the findings of the FBI on the case were that there was no criminal intent found in leaving classified information. However, there were many questions regarding possibility of perjury on Clinton's behalf, record keeping comprehensiveness in the State Department, and what consequences exist for people who mishandle classified information that no longer serve the government. Also related, a case for charging Clinton for perjury.
Good. Just because you claim you didn't know you were committing a crime doesn't mean it didn't happen and you shouldn't be prosecuted for it. I hope this second investigation gets her what she deserves, a long prison sentence and a ban from being in anything political ever again.
Are we still pretending Hilary is going to get any sort of a slap on the wrist?
If ignorance of the law isn't an acceptable defense for the common man, it shouldn't be an acceptable defense for Clinton or her staff. The fact that the FBI found Clinton to be sharing correspondence in violation of the law should be basis enough for some sort of legal action. I know the investigation itself is petty, but part of me is grateful for the unending headache it's causing the Clintons.
I don't see how you can tell investigators and the public that you did not do XYZ, have those claims unquestionably refuted by the FBI, and face no consequences for blatantly lying. I'm sure somebody will eagerly explain to me why there's nothing wrong with lying to investigators and the public, though. T-Minus..
Good. Just because you claim you didn't know you were committing a crime doesn't mean it didn't happen and you shouldn't be prosecuted for it
Personally I disagree, but yeah Hillary fucked up big time either way
So in the worst situation for Clinton, what could happen now? this rollercoaster has gone too far for me to completely understand whats going on anymore.
Oh hell yeah, I mean I'm not going to get my hopes up but fuck I think it would be grand if I was proven wrong about this country being corrupt to the core. This "investigation" is bullshit. They're just going to lynch everyone but Hillary Clinton as an act of "good faith" for the public.

They would be likely be fired, have their clearance changed or revoked, receive demotion, ect. Since Clinton is no longer employed by the government at this time there are no consequences for her. The Chairperson of the committee basically said "Well what is the fucking point of having a security clearance?" Her lawyers and attorneys possibly saw the classified emails and they didn't have clearance, but the FBI didn't think it was an issue because they weren't planning against the US, rather they were helping out a State employee. The problem is that there are no consequences to giving a random, uncleared individual a load of classified information unless they hand it over to a malicious body.
And then you get Trump or John Kerry for president
Both are infinitely better than Hitlary.
Are we still pretending Hilary is going to get any sort of a slap on the wrist?
So far, in 2016, we've had: - Trump become the Republican nominee - UK voting to leave the EU - Leicester win the Premier League - Iceland and Wales both making it further than England in the Euro cup At this point nothing much really surprises me any more.
Don't worry guys, just a standard Republican witch hunt nothing to see here move along
Both are infinitely better than Hitlary.
This. Also if she's convicted of perjury, she can't be president. I never got the hatred against Trump. Other than, "He says dumb things that aren't true because he doesn't know better" I'm not sure why people hate him. They assume he's a racist homophobic woman hater just because he's a rich white guy. But at least he's not a corrupt criminal, in my opinion. I mean Hillary has been a washington insider since the 90s. She's had every opportunity to fix things she claims to be broken but instead she gives speeches to wallstreet and mega corporations for $225k a piece and then has the audacity to not only deny she is an insider but also claim she's for the people. Don't get me wrong I am a Bernie supporter all the way and I don't think I'll be voting, period, but I don't have this hatred of Trump like a lot of people people I know.
But she's the [del]lesser of two evils[/del] slightly less evil than Trump
Like, i dont care for the man really, he seems to just be saying shit to get free publicity, and correct me if ive been misinformed or something, but arent the Clintons associated with a LOT of shady shit? I think i saw once a list of deaths related to people who were challenging them in some way over the years. Probably conspiracy stuff but its making me a little uneasy.

At this point, we might as well expect a false vacuum collapse, for how lousy this year has been so far.
You really think the State Department will find her guilty, remember this is Obama's State Department.

I honestly hope that her escaping an indictment a second time would incentivize people to go full scale riot, or at least protest all across the nation. A revolution doesn't happen sitting down.
Comparison: failed businesses versus successful ones. (larger)
That's another thing too. The fact that Trump is beyond successful as a business man would probably mean great fiscal policies from him. I'm all for bringing blue collar work back to the US instead of outsourcing it all to China and the rest of Asia. Note: I'm not saying I support him, but if I could only choose between him and Hitlary I'd choose Trump in a heartbeat. I'd personally much rather Jill Stein or Sanders win, though.
No, people think Trump is bigoted because he's claimed that an American-born citizen can't judge him because of his heritage. Because he thinks it's okay to ban over a billion people over their religion. Because he for no real reason claimed that Obama shouldn't be allowed to be president because he felt he wasn't an American citizen. And because the man has a history of lawsuits against him for denying minorities residence in his apartments and other housing projects. But, sure, let's just ignore all that and claim it's people hating old white men for no reason.
Actually it does. And either way I don't believe for a second that she didn't know that what she was doing was wrong. There's already been IT specialists that have come out and said they've warned her more than enough times that doing what she did was insecure as fuck.
