• A question about the buzzing in my amp

Hey FP, just a general question, back in the day when I had my first strat, it was REALLY buzzy and staticy on the amp when I turned the overdrive on. Like HORRIBLY. So, after a few guitars here and there, I settled on a LTD Viper 200-FM, which oh my lord, has never treated me better. Now with this guitar, there is still a noticeable buzzing in the amp with the overdrive turned on, but nothing close to as horrible as the strat was. But what can I do about the buzzing? I've started a little band, a Beatles tribute only doing like the real rock and trippy songs (Yes, we have a SITAR :D), but at rehearsal I get all embarrassed by the buzzing! Is there anything I can do to stop it? Something I can clean on the guitar or amp? Or is that just one of the problems with overdrive? This is the amp: I just have the Thanks in advance, ~z~
Well, It looks to be a 10 watt amp. I get buzzing with my 10 watt as well. And what kind of pick ups do you have? what leads? that stuff as well pls.
Alrighty, tis a 15 watt, ESP humbuckers, not too sure on the leads, just know that it's a stock guitar, ESP's standard. http://www.music123.com/ESP-Viper-200FM-Electric-Guitar-516674-i1149037.Music123 That's really all I can tell ya about the guitar x3 ^^^^^^^^
well humming will always be there but i know you can get something to stop it, But cant remeber what it is. Also if you are in a tribute band/band you will need to gert a bigger amp I think.
Oh ya, definately. But until I get some more cash, this lil puppy will do. It's stupidly loud, even only at 4. Would hate to see it at 10 xD But regardless, thanks. I'll do some looking around for an answer ^^
Noise gate.
Turn the overdrive down from 10
Humbuckers block the buzzing a LOT better than single-coil pickups, like the one on the strat you tried. But even so, if you get a "horrible" buzzing, look into a new amp or a noisegate.
Could be the grounding maybe
I have the same amp and it's not great, buzzes for me too.
