PC title Uses Cry Engine 3. Gets released in June as a Free2Play game in China first. Hopefully gets released in America and Europe too.
I don't know about this. It just doesn't have that monster hunter feel. Everything in this trailer seems really shitty.
Would be great if it gets released in the West, especially seeing as we never got Frontier. But why'd they have to bring back the Cephadrome, possibly the worst enemy in all of Monster Hunter?
Those monsters were just peacefully grazing there, then he shows up and starts slapping them around..
Other than the change in aesthetics with the switch to cry engine this reminds me a lot of the recent trailers for MH4. They're really trying to add more action to the series. That's neat and all, but I'm not sure I'm okay with it. E: Oh wait, it's Tencent? It's gonna be bad, but at least it's not coming to EU or NA then. :v:
cry engine 3 eugh tencent EUUGGHHHH
I'm hopinng this won't become a grindfest like frontier.
fucking plesioth. Would be nice if they remade assets. The quality still looks weak just some better textures and motion blur. Been using the same stuff for so long it shows its age even with cryengine 3. Still I would like to see it released over here in the west but I somewhat doubt it will be.
This looks shit for cryengine. Monster Hunter was never good anyways.
One thing that always makes me laugh is how gigantic the greatswords are.
Monster Hunter was never good anyways.
:colbert:
This is insane holy shit. If this doesn't come to north america I will be furious.
Looks pretty great. It'd be hard to screw up monster hunter, so I think it'll be good. I hope it comes to us english speakin' folks.
why is the audio in this video so bad
Oh man, I bet this'll be great, we should know because people overseas got to play the last PC monster hunter ga- Oh wait. This annoys me greatly, this will be another MH game that we either won't see at all or not for another 3 years.
I love Monster Hunter but I don't know what to think of a free2play Monsterhunter with microtransactions and such...
I am so going to try this. if it comes to America.
why is the audio in this video so bad
asian mmos aren't allowed to have good sound quality, it's a law in every asian country surprised you haven't heard about it tbh
I'm hopinng this won't become a grindfest like frontier.
It's Trencent, of course it's going to be a grindfest. I would be excited about this if it wasn't supported by a company that promote bad practice and that will probably ruin the game by making it F2P (and obviously P2W or P2accelerate progress). But of course because it's monster hunter everyone is going to play that shit for hundreds of hours anyway and they'll make a fuckton of money.
mhfo did it well but they forgot the whole bring it to the west thing and decided to go full on xenophobia and banned anyone with western ips as well as require a kssn to get on the korean one
It was worse enough that a ton of French people were joining the english channel and hosting french only hunts, but the IP ban just made me quit completely.
I don't know about this. It just doesn't have that monster hunter feel. Everything in this trailer seems really shitty.
Pretty much this. Its too frontier and doesn't look very true to monster hunter. Frontiers not that great I hear and I imagine this will be much the same.
Its probably gonna be pay to win like majority of mmos made in china
Hey guys i found this. http://www.videogamesuncovered.com/news/rumor/monster-hunter-online-is-coming-to-the-west.html Not 100% sure if it's true or not.
Its probably gonna be pay to win like majority of mmos made in china
I'd dumb/disagree with this but it's probably right. Chances are there will probably be something like cash shop/Vsub only farms or cash only guild farms. I mean these are Chinese devs, along with Capcom's usual bullshit.
p2accelerate process is the best way to do f2p though unless the process is breathtakingly slow (tribes ascend, planetside)
But in game where you can't actually level up, I wonder how they'll achieve that. You can't sell EXP Boost or anything like it so what do you do. Sell gear parts for money? Ruin the point of killing certain monsters. Sell cosmetic only? That's like a huge part of discovering a new gear set, you can't ruin that by making it paid only. Sell gear parts/ full set you can't find in the game? You are now cutting gameplay (weapons/armors) from the game, which is a practice I don't appreciate. I do realize they could made some kind of drop rate enhancer or make some food give you buff that would not really make you better in combat (otherwise that'll turn into a P2W). I really have trouble imagining a non P2W (or supergrindfest), fair system for this type of game, but then again i'll probably try it out since it's monster hunter.
Looks pretty generic actually, the only thing I found appealing was the visuals which is brought about by CryEngine 3, other than that gameplay looks meh, and the f2p model will just reap micro-transactions.

There's a lot you could charge for.
wow those hit effects look so UGLY
The games had its flaws. Always. But man. I had over 500 hours in part 1,2 and 3. They are fucking addicting.

Have you played monster hunter? Also gameplay videos (and tencent) shows its going to be shit. The only good MH games come from capcom's MH dev team.
What are you talking about? Parts? Have you played monster hunter?
I think he means Monster Hunter 1, 2, and 3(Tri).
